Design of an A-LINE gown with turtle neck
Hello hiveians
Lovely morning to all the needleworkers on this beautiful Monday morning @needleworkmonday where we bring to you our different creativity.
Today, I will be sharing with you the making of a simple free gown made with a lace fabric with a turtle neck, puffy sleeves and an opening in front designed with loops and buttons.
I have been making different types of free gown but on this, I decided to make it different from what I used to made by adding a little opening in front to give it a unique and beautiful look.
All I did was just to fold my fabric in two, mark out the the shoulder, bust point, under bust, waist, hip and full length vertical and horizontal measurement, then I added some allowance to the measurements for ease.
After cutting out the marked measurements I placed it on another folded fabric to cut out the back pattern, the front was slit open with about 7" and I added loop to it for the buttons and pipe with a Bais tape.
Finally, I cut out the pieces for turtle neck and a puff sleeves which was achieved with an elastic band at the hem
All these were sewn together and was within a short period of time and delivered to my client who is to have her child's name ceremony tomorrow.
This is the finished design of the dress.
Buttons will be added to the front, as I have to go the market before I can get desired types.
Wow it's really beautiful, thanks for sharing this @bimpcy
