I have been known for my sewing skill and it's gives me great joy that I do what I know I to do best, I love making outfit for people, I specialized in making female outfits but sometimes, I try out making male outfit though, I'm not that perfect in sewing male outfit but I try my best to put the little I learnt into something meaningful.

I made this outfit for my little friend Blessing, who stays with her grand ma, she is so obedient and respectful, I love her so much that I call her my friend, sometimes ago, her grand ma brought some left over fabric to me, these are left over from the outfit Blessing father made for himself, he sent it to grand ma to make something nice for his daughter. When the fabrics were brought to me, I decided to make something simple for Blessing as pleaded by grandma, I know all the pleading for for me to sew it as a gift for her but since the little girl is my friend, I decided to make it for free, hence I'm not buying anything else to add to the outfit except for the thread and zipper which I can afford on my own.

Cutting and sewing process

To make this outfit, I measured the round waist circumference and multiply by 3 to cut out the piece for the lower bodice.

The lower part was gathered with a long stitch from the sewing machine, I dragged the thread to gather the piece to the exact waistline measurement with zipper allowance.

I proceeded to the cutting of the upper bodice, the remaining fabric was folded in two to cut out the front bodice, with the measurement with me, I marked out the neck of 2.5", shoulder of 6" armhole circumference 6" waist and bust circumference was divided by 4 to give me 6", all the measurement were connected together and cut out, the front was placed on another folded fabric to cut out the back part with zipper allowance. I cut out same shape of lining to turn it inside out for neat finishing.

The upper bodice were sewn together to the gathered lower part and was set aside while I cut out the sleeves. The remaining fabric was used to cut out a double sleeve of a basic and Puff sleeve with elastic band at the hem of the sleeves. I marked out the sleeves measurement of a basic sleeve with a long piece of the round sleeve measurement multiply by 3, I made a loop and inserted an elastic band in it to make it puffy, the other end was pleated to the main sleeve.

The sleeves were sewn to the armhole circumference with the zipper at the back, finally, the hem was folded in by 1" and I have a complete outfit for my little friend Blessing.

Grandma was so happy with the outcome of the dress, you need to see her dancing with joy, I'm happy to see the expression after delivering the outfit.

Thanks for your time, support, comment and encouragement. Until my next post, do have a great day.
