Completion of a six pieces skirt and my desired double flare peplum blouse
Hello everyone
It's my pleasure to be here once again on this beautiful day, I hope you all are doing great, it's another day here @diyhub for me to bring to you my recent design of a peplum blouse which I made to complete the six pieces skirt I made in my previous post.
Last week, I was able to cut and sew this skirt which was a specification from my sister's friend who needs the outfit for a wedding function this weekend but she gave me the opportunity to make any blouse of my choice to complete the outfit for hair after the cutting and sewing of the skirt, I was left with the choice of blouse then I made a post on the cutting and sewing process of the skirt and asked for suggestions from professionals here on what else could be made on a six pieces skirt aside a peplum blouse but It seems there is nothing else which can be made as peplum blouse is what actually goes well and beautiful on a six pieces skirt. Well in my search, I was able to find a straight blouse sewn on it but it doesn't look nice to me especially when I'm using a lace fabric, so I decided to go with the normal trend of six pieces skirt and a princess dart bustier peplum blouse.
Since the delivery date is fast approching, I had to settle for the one I know how to do best before I eventually make something that I will end up regretting.it won't be nice of me to make something different that will eventually make no meaning, that was why I had to make a simple princess dart bustier to complete the outfit.
To make this blouse.
First I used the measurement for the upper bodice to cut out a princess dart bustier to the half length on a brown paper before it was duplicated on the main fabric.
The same was placed on satin and matching colour lining to cut out same shape and it was neatly sewn together.
After the completion of the half length, I used the remaining fabric to cut out a double flare of 360° each to complete the blouse.
Tha flare was used to cut out same shape on a satin, interfacing and lining before i went ahead to iron the interfacing on the satin which was later sewn with the lace fabric before sewing the lining on it and to be turned neatly inside out.
This was done to make the flare stand firm, the double 360° flare was sewn on the upper bodice which was set aside and I have this.
Considering the fabric I have left, it's enough to make any choice of sleeves, but a decided to make a simple basic long sleeve to complete the blouse and it came out really nice.
This is the final outcome of the six pieces skirt and double flare peplum blouse I made.
To add more beauty to the blouse, I will make a fabric rose applique to the side front of the upper chest line and I believe it will look nice on it.
This is a very nice top. You completed the skirt perfectly - well done!
