Hello everyone

A beautiful Monday and new week to you all out there, I hope we all had a nice weekend, it's a great day @needleworkmonday for all the needle worker as we gather here to showcase our creativity as well as encourage ourselves on what we know how to do best using needle and thread.

Last week Saturday was children's day and the next day which was Sunday, was scheduled to be a thanksgiving service in church for all the children and also to pray for them, as we all know, in this type of celebration, most children will be so glad to put on new outfit, my little niece was not left out which made her mom think of making a new outfit for her, as she will always say to me in situations like this, "thank God I have you".

At first she complained of not having enough to spend on making a new outfit for her daughter but at the same time, she wanted her to put on something nice. I reminded her of the left over fabric she had with me for sometimes now without knowing what to make with it, she was so glad and asked if it will be enough for her daughter, I told her not to worry that I will see what I can come up with.

Looking at the fabric, I knew it would not be enough so I thought of what to combine with it to make a complete dress, I remembered I saw a dress online that was made of the combination of Ankara fabric and satin, I fell in love with it when I saw it, so I decided to make it for my little niece lucky enough, the fabric I had with me was just the amount of fabric I needed use.

I went to the market to get a matching colour satin for the combination and other necessary materials, when I got home, I began work immediately.

cutting and sewing process

First was to cut out the big flare of 360° which was from the waistline to the full length

Then I used the Ankara fabric to cut out a high and low flare to be sewn on the big flare.

Proceeding to the upper bodice, I cut out the measurement on the Ankara fabric as well to make the half length.

Sewing all the pieces together, I made a complete outfit with the zipper at the back.Making the sleeve was a challenge for me as I have exhausted almost all the fabric I had but lucky enough for me I found out I had some scraps somewhere that was what I used to make this stylish sleeve on the dress and it came out really nice than the one I intended to make.

Seeing it this way, it's just too plain for me so I made a small bow and added it to the side front of the dress.
