It's a beautiful Monday and it's my pleasure to bring to you the making of this outfit for my niece for her thanksgiving service in church, after a successful completion of her 4years course in the university of ilorin, with all the strike and pandemic in the country, she came out successful and this is a great achievement for her and the family, after her graduation, they had series of party her and there rejoicing with great joy and happiness in her heart, most of the parties where attended with different outfits which I made for her, the celebration wouldn't have been completed without returning all the glory to God who actually made everything possible.

To appreciate God for what he has done for her and her friends, they decided to get a lace fabric from the market to make an outfit which they would put on on their thanksgiving day. My cousin will not hesitate to buy a fabric as she is so assured that I will make the outfit for her and not just making an outfit but a beautiful one, she always stands out differently amongst her friends with her beautiful outfit anytime they go for same fabric, this time will not be an exception as I promised to make her a beautiful outfit when she brought the fabric to me and told me the purpose of buying the fabric, she trust me on my choice of style so she left me to decide on what to make, fortunately after thinking and searching, I came across this style and that's it.

Cutting and sewing process

With the 3yards of lace fabric, I cut out the lower part of the gown with her bodice measurement from the waistline to the full length of the gown, the front was placed on the fabric to cut out the back with zipper allowance.

Satin material was cut underneath it and it was sewn together, I bought 2yards of net and pleated in on the side of the lower part as seen below.

That was set aside as I cut out the upper bodice of an off shoulder princess dart bustier which was first drafted on a brown paper before being duplicated on the main fabric.

The bust area was padded with a warden and was fully lined with a matching color lining.

To cut the sleeves, I made a two in one sleeve, a puff and a straight sleeve were sewn together to make a single sleeve. The puff sleeve was cut in a cone like shape and a straight cut out sleeve was added to it.

The puff sleeve was fully lined to give it that puffy effect and was pleated on the straight cut sleeve, at the shoulder, I added a tiny elastic band to make it gathered.

The upper bodice was sewn to the lower part with zipper at the back and finally, the sleeves were sewn to the armhole area to make a complete outfit. This is the final outcome, I hope you like it just as my niece was happy when she saw her dress.

This is lovely dear, I love the dress and even the lace fabrics.
I have always wished to sew something like this for myself having that tulle net hanging there just like that.
Well done dear
