Amisos Hill Tumulus Tombs ⚰️🪦 Amisos Tepesi Tümülüs Mezarları

Hello everyone, friends. Last month we went to visit our families. At the end of this long journey with my wife, we agreed to travel a lot. As soon as we got rid of our road fatigue, I said, we started to travel. Today I would like to show you one of the beautiful sightseeing areas of Samsun, which has become popular recently and has become the symbol of the city. Although the name of this place is Baruthane Mound, the common name used by the people is Amisos Hill.⛰️ I learned from our geography teacher in high school that the real name of this place was the Baruthane Tumulus. At that time, when the subject of Amisos Hill came up, I used to show off by saying the other name of the place. 🙃

Herkese merhaba arkadaşlar. Geçtiğimiz ay ailelerimize ziyarete gitmiştik. Eşimle bu uzun yolcuk sonunda bol bol gezmek için anlaşmalarımızı yapmıştık. Yol yorgunluğumuzu atlatır atlatmaz gezmeye başladığımızı söylemiştim. Bu yerin adı Baruthane Tümülüsleri ancak halk arasında kullanılan yaygın ismi Amisos Tepesi.⛰️ Buranın asıl adının Baruthane Tümülüsleri olduğunu lisedeki coğrafya öğretmenimizden öğrenmiştim. O dönemlerde Amisos Tepesi ile ilgili konu açıldığında oranın diğer adını söyleyerek hava atardım. 🙃

The history of Amisos has been studied in four different periods. All of them describe the periods before Christ. With the establishment of living spaces by nations from different regions, it revealed the developed city structure of the period. Even the name has undergone a few changes. The rise in popularity these days has been tragic. During the rescue excavations carried out in Amisos, which became the center of attention of treasure hunters, it was revealed that there were burial chambers under the masonry hills.🪦 It is understood that the Gunpowder Tumuli were built during the Hellenistic period when the Mithridates dynasty ruled. During the joint excavations initiated by the Samsun Museum and Istanbul University, different burial chambers were found under the two piles. It is thought that the gold and valuables found in the excavations were left by the Pontus Kingdom, which ruled in the region. Some of the items found in the tombs are said to be priceless.🪙 Other items such as glass, earth, metal and marble were found in 3/4 BC. It was thought to be centuries old.🏺 References

Amisosun tarihi dört farklı dönem altında inceleniyormuş. Hepsi de milattan önceki dönemleri anlatıyor. Farklı bölgelerden gelen milletlerin yaşam alanı kurmasıyla döneminin gelişmiş şehir yapılanmasını ortaya koymuş. Hatta ismi de birkaç değişikliğe uğramış. Günümüzde popüleritesinin artması trajik bir şekilde olmuş. Defineciler tarafından ilgi odağı haline gelen Amisos'ta 2004 yılında kurtarma kazıları ile yığma tepelerin altında mezar odaları olduğu ortaya çıkmış.🪦 Baruthane Tümülüsleri'nin, Mitridates sülalesinin hüküm sürdüğü Helenistik dönemde yapıldığı anlaşılmış. Samsun Müzesi ve İstanbul Üniversitesi'nin başlattığı ortak kazı çalışmalarında iki yığma altında iki farklı mezar odaları bulunmuş. Kazılar da bulunan altın ve değerli eşyaların bölgede hüküm süren Pontus Krallığı tarafından kaldığı düşünülmekteymiş.🪙 Mezarlarda bulunan bazı eşyalara paha biçilemelecek kadar değerli olduğu söyleniyor. In 2008, the Mound Tombs were opened to visitors by making the necessary arrangements in order to bring them into tourism. As a Samsunian, I wanted to see this place very much. However, I have never had the opportunity to visit it. I traveled with my husband with the excitement of seeing these places for the first time and the surprise of the information I received.👀🌸🌺

2008 yılında ise Tümülüs Mezarları turizme kazandırılmak amacıyla gerekli düzenlemeler ile ziyarete açıldı. Bir Samsun'lu olarak burayı görmeye çok istiyordum. Ancak bu zamana kadar bir türlü ziyaret etme fırsatım olmamıştı. Eşimle buraları ilk kez görmenin heyacanı ve edindiğim bilgilerin şaşkınlığı ile etrafı gezdim.👀🌸🌺

Wooden stairs and railings were built to make it easier for visitors to navigate in and around the area where the tombs are located. 🌲 Even walking on the stairs under the trees overlooking the sea was wonderful, but seeing the textures of history was also excellent.🌲🌳 Natural forest air on one side, the smell of the sea on the one hand, and the texture of history on the other....🖼️🏛️📅

Mezarların bulunduğu alanın içine ve etrafına ziyaretçilerin daha kolay gezebilmesi için ahşap merdivenler ve korkuluklar yapılmış.🪜🌲 Ağaçların altında uzanan merdivenlerde deniz manzaralı yürüşüş keyfi yapmak bile zaten muzzamken birde tarihin dokularını görmek mükemmeldi.🌲🌳 Bir yandan doğal orman havası bir yandan denizin kokusu, bir yandan tarihin dokusu....🖼️🏛️📅
