Gulhane Park / Gülhane Parkı 🌴

Hello everyone. I hope you had a great start to the new year. I hope 2024 will be the best year for all of us. I've been in Istanbul for about two weeks now and I can say that I've partially adapted to the city. The biggest part that I find unfamiliar is people's excessive hurry and stressful behavior. I can make sense of their being in a hurry because of the crowded city. Sometimes it is necessary to be in a hurry, especially in transportation. Of course, it would not be right to generalize this, but wherever I go, many people exhibit these attitudes. I hope I can fully adapt to the city as soon as possible.

Herkese merhaba. Yeni yıla umarım harika bir giriş yapmışsınızdır. 2024 yılının hepimiz için en iyi şekilde geçmesini temenni ediyorum. Yaklaşık iki haftadır İstanbul'dayım. Şehre kısmen de olsa ayak uydurdum diyebilirim. Yabancılık çektiğim en büyük kısım insanların aşırı aceleci ve stresli hareketleri. Aceleci olmalarına şehrin kalabalık olmasından dolayı anlam verebiliyorum. Özellikle ulaşım konusunda aceleci olmak gerekiyor bazen. Ancak insanların stresli olmasına bir türlü anlam veremiyorum. Tabiki bunu genellemek doğru olmaz ama her nereye gidersem bir çok kişi bu bahsettiğim tavırları sergiliyor. Umarım en kısa sürede şehre tam anlamıyla ayak uydurabilirim.

Anyway, let's get to the point. I'm exploring Istanbul whenever I can, and I will try to share the places I visit from time to time. This will be my first post in 2024. I hope I will post regularly. The first place I visited in Istanbul was Gülhane Park and then I visited the nearby neighborhoods. In this post, I will try to share with you what I remember about Gülhane Park. This park has a special importance for me. It's like this, a very dear friend of mine has been singing Cem Karaca's song "I am a walnut tree in Gülhane Park" since he was a little boy. Naturally, we memorized the song thanks to him ahaha.

Her neyse, gelelim asıl konuya. Fırsat buldukça İstanbul'u keşfe çıkıyorum. Gittiğim yerleri de ara ara paylaşmaya çalışacağım. Bu benim 2024'deki ilk postum olacak. Umarım düzenli olarak paylaşım yaparım. İstanbul'da ilk gittiğim yer gülhane parkı oldu ve ardından yakın civarlarını gezdim. Bu postta Gülhane Parkı ile ilgili aklımda kalanları sizle paylaşmaya çalışacağım. Bu park benim için ayrı bir öneme sahip. Şöyle, çok sevdiğim bir dostum küçüklüğünden beri "Cem Karaca'nın, ben bir ceviz ağacıyım gülhane parkında" şarkısını söyler. Haliyle onun sayesinde şarkıyı bizde ezberledik ahaha.

When I came to the part where the park was, I immediately thought of my friend and I immediately video called him and made him sing the song. It was a nice memory. 🙂
Before I entered the gate, the security guard told me that I could visit for free and gave me some necessary information.

Parkın olduğu kısma geldiğimde aklıma direk arkadaşım geldi ve hemen görüntülü aradım ve şarkıyı söylettim. Güzel bir anı olarak kaldı. 🙂
Kapıdan girmeden önce güvenlik görevlisi ücretsiz olarak gezebileceğimi söyledi ve bazı gerekli bilgiler verdi.

To be honest, the park doesn't have many eye-catching features. However, it has a calm structure. It is an ideal park to get rid of the gloomy and tense moments of Istanbul and spend time. There are also different areas for those who want to take a walk. Tall trees accompany you during your walk. This type of tree also grows in our region, but this is the first time I have seen such tall trees.

Parkın açıkçası çok fazla göze hitap eden bir özelliği yok. Ancak sakin bir yapısı var. İstanbul'un kasvetli ve gergin anlarından kurtulup zaman geçirmek için gayet ideal bir park. Ayrıca yürüyüş yapmak isteyenler için de farklı alanlar oluşturulmuş. Yürüyüş esnasında sizlere uzun boylu ağaçlar eşlik ediyor. Bu ağaç türü bizim yörede de yetişiyor ancak bu kadar uzunlarını ilk defa gördüm.

The park has a very large area, so you are unlikely to get tired while visiting. There is no need to worry about this situation. There are resting areas at different points of the park and there are also cafes. I sat in a cafe and drank tea and the price was very reasonable. 10 Turkish Liras. It is almost worth 1 Hive.

Park oldukça geniş bir alana sahip dolayısıyla gezerken yorulma ihtimaliniz yok. Bu durumu dert etmeye gerek yok. Parkın farklı noktalarında dinlenme alanları mevcut ayrıca kafelerde bulunuyor. Ben bir kafeye oturup çay içtim. Fiyatı da gayet uygun. 10 Türk Lirası. Hemen hemen 1 Hive'nin değerinde.

After having tea, I realized that there is a science museum in the park. I spent about an hour in this museum and really enjoyed it. I will write about this museum in a separate post.
The other part of the park is surrounded by a structure resembling the castle walls. There are some remarkable artifacts on the left at the exit of the park. Since there is an archeology museum nearby, I guess they put them there to draw attention to these points.

Çay içtikten sonra parkın içerisinde bulunan bir bilim müze olduğunu fark ettim. Yaklaşık bir saatimide bu müzeye ayırdım ve gerçekten büyük keyif aldım. Ayrı bir postta bu müzeye yer vereceğim.
Parkın diğer kısmı kale surlarını andıran bir yapıyla çevrilmiş durumda. Parkın çıkışında sol tarafta dikkat çekici eserler bulunmakta. Hemen yakınlarda arkeoloji müzesi olduğu için sanırım bu noktalara da dikkat çekmek için koymuşlar.

After leaving the park, I visited the archeology museum and spent about half an hour here. I think I will prepare a separate post about it. Finally about Gülhane park, as I said, don't expect too much, but it is a very good place to relieve stress and relax.

Parktan ayrıldıktan sonra arkeoloji müzesini gezdim ve buraya da yaklaşık yarım saat zaman ayırdım. Bununla ilgilide ayrı bir post hazırlamayı düşünüyorum. Gülhane parkı ile ilgili son olarak, dediğim gibi çok fazla birşey beklemeyin ancak stres atmak, kafa dinlemek için gayet iyi bir yer.
