Blue Mosque / Sultanahmet Camii

Hello everyone,
I often express my dissatisfaction with Istanbul traffic, but sometimes it has its advantages. I try to write posts if I can find a place in the vehicles and I started writing this post on the metro. After the metro, I will continue my journey by metrobus and then by bus. I have a journey of about an hour and a half. Let's see how much I can complete 😄
Luckily I found a place to sit on the subway and I picked up my phone and started writing.

İstanbul trafiğine olan memnuniyetsizliğimi sık sık dile getiriyorum. Ancak bunun bazen avantajlı yönleri de olabiliyor. Şöyle, araçlarda yer bulabilirsem post yazmaya çalışıyorum ve bu postu yazmaya da metroda başladım. Metrodan sonra metrobüs daha sonra otobüsle yolculuğum devam edecek. Yaklaşık bir buçuk saatlik bir yolculuğum var. Bakalım ne kadarını tamamlayabileceğim. 😄
Şansıma metroda oturacak yer buldum ve telefonu elime alıp yazmaya başladım.

In this post I will try to talk about the Blue Mosque, which is the neighbor of Hagia Sophia. Although it is not as overcrowded as Hagia Sophia, it is still the center of attention of people. Before entering the mosque, I went to the mausoleum right next to it. In previous posts I talked about the Mevlana museum in Konya. When I entered the mausoleum, I felt like I was in Konya. Since Konya is close to my province, I see it as my hometown. Naturally, I felt like I was in my hometown. 🙂

Bu postta Ayasofya'nın komşusu olan Sultanahmet Camii'nden bahsetmeye çalışacağım. Her ne kadar Ayasofya kadar aşırı kalabalık olmasa da yine de insanların ilgi odağı. Camiye girmeden önce hemen yakınındaki türbeye gittim. Daha önceki postlarda Konya'da bulunan Mevlana müzesinden bahsetmiştim. Türbenin içerisine girince kendimi sanki Konya'da gibi hissettim. Konya kendi ilime yakın olduğu için memleketim gibi görüyorum. Haliyle kendimi memleketimde gibi hissettim. 🙂

After leaving the tomb, I went to the mosque, which has a very large and peaceful courtyard. Since the mosque is a place of worship, women who do not wear a headscarf wear a headscarf to express their respect and enter the mosque that way. I was especially impressed by this attitude of foreign tourists. Before entering the mosque, I saw the following problem: After taking off their shoes, many people do not find a place to put them, so they take them in their hands and walk around the mosque in that way. Therefore, it is not a pleasant sight. The authorities need to find a solution to this problem.

Türbeden ayrıldıktan sonra caminin olduğu kısma geçtim. Caminin çok geniş huzurlu bir avlusu bulunuyor. Cami ibadet edilen bir yer olduğu için başörtü takmayan bayanlar saygılarını dile getirmek için başörtü takıp camiye o şekilde giriyor. Özellikle yabancı turistlerin bu tutumları beni çok etkiledi. Camiye girmeden önce şöyle bir sorun gördüm. Ayakkabıları çıkardıktan sonra bir çok kişi koyacak yer bulamadığı için ellerine alıp caminin içini o şekilde geziyorlar. Dolayısıyla hoş bir görüntü olmuyor. Yetkililerin bu soruna çözüm bulması gerekiyor.

And the respect for the worshippers inside the mosque is at the highest level. It is really pleasing to see these shots. Besides, it is free to visit the mosque. I highly recommend you to see this spiritual atmosphere, artistic structure and unique architecture without paying any fee. There is a section inside the mosque where books containing religious information are sold. Those who are interested can also visit this section.

Ayrıca caminin içinde ibadet eden kişilere gösterilen saygı da en üst seviyede. Bu kareleri görmek gerçekten sevindirici. Bunun yanında camiyi ziyaret etmek ücretsiz. Yolunuz düşerse herhangi bir ücret vermeden bu manevi atmosferi, sanatsal yapıyı, eşsiz mimariyi görmenizi kesinlikle tavsiye ederim. Caminin içerisinde dini bilgiler içeren kitapların satıldığı bir bölümde var. İlgisi olanlar bu bölümü de ziyaret edebilir.

The lighting system of the mosque is very similar to the Hagia Sophia. The architecture is truly unique. A small model was prepared to explore the mosque more thoroughly. After visiting the interior of the mosque, I took a small tour of the courtyard.

Caminin ışıklandırma sistemi Ayasofya ile çok benzer durumda. Mimari özelliği ise gerçekten eşsiz. Camiyi daha kapsamlı keşf edebilmek için küçük bir maket hazırlanmış. Caminin iç kısmını gezdikten sonra avluyu da ufaktan turladım.

By the way, I wrote most of the article during the journey. I will try to turn the shortage of transportation in my favor in the following processes. 😄
