Mi hijo está creciendo muy rápido. [ESP-ENG]

Hola madres y padres. Dicen que los problemas son de la edad que tienen tus hijos, así que cuando están pequeños, son tiernos y nuestra única preocupación es mantenerlos sanos y aseados. Cuando empiezan a caminar entonces se nos agrega que debemos cuidarlos que no se vayan a caer y hacerse daño, en ocasiones es inevitable porque en cualquier momento se caen y se hacen un raspón en la rodilla o hasta en la cara. Pero nuestro trabajo como padres es hacer que este accidente no sea tan grave y eso lo hacemos estando pendientes de ellos.

Hello moms and dads. They say that the problems are of the age that your children have, so when they are small, they are tender and our only concern is to keep them healthy and neat. When they start to walk then it is added that we must take care of them so they do not fall and hurt themselves, sometimes it is inevitable because at any moment they fall and get a scrape on their knee or even on their face. But our job as parents is to make sure that this accident is not so serious and we do that by taking care of them.

Así sucesivamente tu hijo va creciendo y nos vamos dando cuenta que ya no necesitan tanto de nosotros y que poco a poco se hacen cada día más independiente. No sé si es que en este momento me siento nostálgica por que solo hace unos años mi hijo era un niño que lo único que necesitaba era a su mamá para todo y ahora acaba de cumplir 13 años. Hace un año me sentía igual y no sabía cuáles eran los cambios que iba tener al cumplir 12 y durante todo el año mi hijo cambio su apariencia física y también su manera de ser. En el 2022 le empezó a salir acné, su voz se hizo más fuerte, creció y se volvió menos conversador.

I don’t know if at this moment I feel nostalgic because just a few years ago my son was a child who only needed his mother for everything and now he has just turned 13 years old. A year ago I felt the same way and I didn’t know what changes he was going to have when he turned 12 and during the whole year my son changed his physical appearance and also his way of being. In 2022 he started getting acne, his voice got louder, he grew up and became less talkative.

Yo soy muy conversadora y años atrás todo lo hablaba con él, yo soy quien lo lleva a sus prácticas de béisbol y al colegio, entonces teníamos tiempo para hablar de muchas cosas, ahora yo hablo y el dice: SI, AJA o mueve su cabeza en señal de que me está escuchando. Creo que de todos los cambios en su crecimiento la que más me ha afectado es esa, pero también sé que es parte de su desarrollo como persona y que está en la edad dónde va a crear su propia personalidad.

I am very talkative and years ago I used to talk to him about everything, I am the one who takes him to baseball practice and to school, so we had time to talk about many things, now I talk and he says: YES, AJA or shakes his head as a sign that he is listening to me. I think that of all the changes in his growth the one that has affected me the most is that, but I also know that it is part of his development as a person and that he is at the age where he is going to create his own personality.

Ahora Andrés @angardu ya tiene 13 años, a dejado de ser un niño para convertirse en un adolescente, este año vendrán muchísimos más cambios. Hice hasta la tarea de buscar en internet para saber lo que viene y leí sobre sus cambios físicos y de personalidad. Yo sé que también fui adolescente, pero soy mujer, no sé cómo vive esta etapa un hombre. No se si me siento ansiosa o con miedo del momento en que me diga que tiene novia, yo sé que le gustan las niñas y que tiene amigas. Es parte de la vida pero extraño a mi bebé chiquito.

Andrés @angardu is now 13 years old, he is no longer a child but a teenager, this year will bring many more changes. I even did some research on the internet to find out what is coming and I read about his physical and personality changes. I know I was a teenager too, but I am a woman, I don’t know how a man lives this stage. I don’t know if I feel anxious or afraid of the moment he tells me he has a girlfriend, I know he likes girls and has girlfriends. It is part of life but I miss my little baby.

Me imagino que todos los años tendré nuevas expectativas con respecto a su crecimiento y como dije los problemas serán de la edad que él tenga. Si nuestro trabajo como padres rinde frutos y hemos educado a nuestro hijo correctamente las caídas que tendrá a lo largo de estos años no serán fuertes, solo unos pequeños raspones en las rodillas o en el corazón pero que con el tiempo sanarán. Lo único que espero es que esta etapa en la vida de mi hijo esté cargadas de buenas experiencias y deseo poder compartir con él la mayoría de ellas como ha sido hasta ahora.

I imagine that every year I will have new expectations regarding his growth and as I said the problems will be of the age he is. If our work as parents pays off and we have educated our son correctly, the falls he will have during these years will not be hard, just a few small scrapes in the knees or in the heart, but they will heal with time. The only thing I hope is that this stage in my son’s life will be full of good experiences and I wish to be able to share with him most of them as it has been so far.

Mamá, los años con nuestros hijos pequeños pasan muy rápido, llénalos de besos, abrazos, aprovecha cada segundo de su niñez y diviértete porque cuando crecen de igual manera sentirás que te faltó tiempo, pero al menos tendrás los recuerdos y por favor no olvides tomar muchas fotos.

Mom, the years with our little children go by very fast, fill them with kisses, hugs, take advantage of every second of their childhood and have fun because when they grow up you will still feel that you lacked time, but at least you will have the memories and please don’t forget to take lots of pictures.
