Cumpleaños # 14 de mi hijo Andrés 🎂 // Birthday #14 of my son Andrés 🎂

Hola mamás y papás, no quería dejar pasar la oportunidad de compartir con ustedes el 14 cumpleaños de mi hijo mayor Andrés que celebramos el 1 de febrero. Como madre cada cumpleaños de mi hijo es un recordatorio de que está creciendo y ya no es el niño que necesitaba a mamá para todo. No digo que sea malo porque la idea es formarlo para que sea un hombre bueno, independiente y educado. Pero a veces necesito consentirlo como lo hice hace unos años.

El día del cumpleaños de mi hijo no teníamos mucho preparado para su celebración, ya que era un día entre semana y además esa semana estábamos en un campeonato estatal de béisbol en el que ya habíamos gastado el presupuesto para su cumpleaños, pero a él no le importó porque eso es lo que le gusta, jugar béisbol. Así que solo compramos un pastel para cantarle cumpleaños feliz. Porque cumpleaños sin torta no es cumpleaños 🎂.

Ese día salimos muy temprano para el partido de béisbol, algo que durante toda la semana nos llevó todo el día, entre ir, el partido y estar de vuelta. El juego no lo ganamos pero Andrés pegó dos hits, así que le fue muy bien individualmente hablando en el día de su cumpleaños. Ese día mi esposo pidió permiso en su trabajo para salir temprano y pudo estar en el juego de nuestro hijo. Cuando salimos de ahí como a las 5 pm fuimos por el pastel de chocolate que le habíamos mandado a hacer donde le encanta.

Todo iba perfecto hasta ese momento, pues llegábamos a la casa y decorábamos un poco para tomarnos fotos y cantar el cumpleaños, la celebración no se podía alargar mucho porque al día siguiente habría otro partido y tendríamos que madrugar, el caso es que cuando llegamos a la casa a eso de las 7:00 pm no había luz y los planes empezaron a cambiar. No tenía ganas de decorar y las fotos no quedaron tan bonitas como esperaba.

Así que cantamos cumpleaños feliz y comimos un montón de torta de chocolate con relleno de dulce de leche y maní, estaba súper deliciosa. Andrés estaba muy contento porque esa era la torta que quería para su cumpleaños y no necesitaba nada más porque una de las ventajas de que ya sea grande es que entiende las situaciones que se le presentan.

Espero que el próximo año cuando cumpla 15 años podamos ofrecerle una celebración más grande, no una fiesta de 15 como la de las niñas, sino algo con más tiempo y presupuesto.

Hi moms and dads, I didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to share with you my oldest son Andres’ 14th birthday which we celebrated on February 1st. As a mother every birthday of my son is a reminder that he is growing up and is no longer the child who needed mommy for everything. I’m not saying it’s bad because the idea is to train him to be a good, independent and educated man. But at times I need to spoil him as I did a few years ago.

The day of my son’s birthday we did not have much prepared for his celebration, since it was a weekday and also that week we were in a state baseball championship in which we had already spent the budget for his birthday, but he did not care because that’s what he likes, playing baseball. So we just bought a cake to sing happy birthday. Because birthday without cake is no birthday 🎂.

That day we left very early for the baseball game, something that during the whole week took us all day, between going, the game and being back. The game we didn’t win but Andres hit two hits, so he did very well individually speaking on his birthday. On this day my husband asked permission from his job to leave early and was able to be at our son’s game. When we left there at about 5 pm we went to get the chocolate cake we had sent for him to make where he loves it.

Everything was going perfect until that moment, because we would arrive at the house and decorate a little to take pictures and sing the birthday, the celebration could not be extended much because the next day there would be another game and we would have to wake up early, the thing is that when we arrived at the house at about 7:00 pm there was no power and plans began to change. I didn’t feel like decorating and the pictures didn’t look as nice as I had hoped.

So we sang happy birthday and ate a lot of chocolate cake with dulce de leche filling and peanuts, it was super delicious. Andres was very pleased because that was the cake he wanted for his birthday and he didn’t need anything else because one of the advantages of him being a big boy is that he understands the situations that arise.

I hope that next year when he turns 15 we can offer him a bigger celebration, not a 15th birthday party like the girls’, but something with more time and budget.
