Les quiero presentar a alguien que fue muy especial para mí y contar un poco de su historia porque merece que la gente lo sepa. A mediados del año 2018 tuve una mascota que murió a causa de las peleas callejeras. Luego de esa perdida mi familia y yo quedamos muy afectados al punto de no querer tener otra mascota. Pero a principios del año 2019 cuando comencé mi primer semestre en la universidad, una tarde mi mama entro a la casa con un pequeño amigo en los brazos y con una cara de niña ilusionada diciéndome que se había conseguido a ese gatito en una cancha de juegos cerca de mi casa, perdido, maullando y solo, que trato de buscar a los alrededores a la madre del gato u otros gatos de la misma edad y no consiguió nada, no lo podía dejar ahí solo porque hay muchos perros en esa zona así que lo trajo a casa.

I want to introduce you to someone who was very special to me and tell a little bit of her story because she deserves for people to know. In the middle of 2018 I had a pet that died because of street fights. After that loss my family and I were very affected to the point of not wanting to have another pet. But at the beginning of 2019 when I started my first semester at the university, one afternoon my mom came into the house with a little friend in her arms and with the face of an excited girl telling me that she had found that kitten in a playground near my house, lost, meowing and alone, she tried to look around for the cat's mother or other cats of the same age and she couldn't find anything, she couldn't leave him there alone because there are many dogs in that area so she brought him home.

Estaba muy pequeñito, se notaba que tenia poco tiempo de nacido y además estaba deshidratado y se notaba que no había comido bien en días, tenia rasgos de un animalito enfermo, sin embargo, tenía una actitud super alegre y no tenia miedo de nosotros, comenzamos a darle comida suave de a poco, pero todo lo que comía lo vomitaba a las horas o de lo contrario le caía mal en su estomago y regaba sus heces en cualquier lugar porque no podía retenerlo. Con mucha paciencia y amor seguimos implementando comidas suaves y en la medida que pasaban los días su estomago al fin mejoraba. Le dije a mi querida madre y amante de los gatos que si no queríamos volver a cometer el mismo error y pasar por lo mismo que la vez pasada había que esterilizar a este gatito, así que agendamos una cita y lo llevamos al lugar, cuando llego a la casa no tardo ni dos días en mejorar de la cirugía, era el gato mas joven en el veterinario por lo que los doctores dijeron que su recuperación seria mas rápida, pero al día siguiente comenzamos a notar un cambio muy notorio en su pelaje, este animalito se estaba quedando sin pelo y le estaban saliendo ronchas en la piel.

He was very small, you could see that he had not been born for long and he was also dehydrated and you could see that he had not eaten well for days, he had features of a sick animal, however, he had a super cheerful attitude and was not afraid of us, we started to give him soft food little by little, but everything he ate he vomited after a few hours or else it was bad for his stomach and he would spill his feces anywhere because he could not hold it in his stomach. With a lot of patience and love we continued to implement soft foods and as the days went by his stomach finally improved. I told my dear mother and cat lover that if we didn't want to make the same mistake again and go through the same as last time we had to sterilize this kitten, so we made an appointment and took him to the place, when he arrived home it didn't take him two days to get better from the surgery, He was the youngest cat at the vet's so the doctors said that his recovery would be faster, but the next day we started to notice a very noticeable change in his fur, this little animal was becoming hairless and he was getting welts on his skin.

Lo que sucedió fue que en esta veterinaria se contagió de una dermatitis en la piel, tuvimos que contactar rápido a un especialista para que pudiéramos comenzar su tratamiento para pulgas, le salió un pelaje nuevo y hermoso, comenzó a crecer y engordar mucho. Este gatito era muy agradecido, era extremadamente cariñoso y activo, se ganaba fácil el amor de las personas, los vecinos le traían juguetes, comida o simplemente pasaban frecuentemente a saludarlo o jugar con él. Christopher se volvió famoso en la calle donde vivíamos, era muy querido por todos, demasiado consentido como para no ser de la realeza. Me encantaba tomarle fotos y yo pienso que a el le gustaba mucho más, sabia quedarse quieto y posar ante las cámaras, se veía muy precioso.

What happened was that at this vet he got a skin dermatitis, we had to quickly contact a specialist so we could start his flea treatment, he got a new and beautiful coat, he started to grow and put on a lot of weight. This kitten was very grateful, he was extremely affectionate and active, he easily won people's love, neighbors would bring him toys, food or just stop by frequently to say hello or play with him. Christopher became famous in the street where we lived, he was loved by everyone, too spoiled not to be royalty. I loved taking pictures of him and I think he loved it even more, he knew how to stand still and pose for the cameras, he looked so precious.

Tuve que emigrar de Venezuela a Colombia y quedo en buenas manos de su otra mama (mi madre) siempre me mantenía al tanto de como estaba y por supuesto como toda abuela lo tenía super malcriado, más de lo que ya estaba. Hace dos semanas recibí la terrible noticia de que nuestro adorado Christopher falleció, el no solía acercarse a personas extrañas y tampoco se alejaba mucho de la casa, esa noche salió a distraerse y a observar la calle como siempre lo hacia antes de ir a casa a dormir, pero llego mas temprano de lo habitual sin casi poder mantenerse de pie y con una cara de susto, mi mama se le acerco y se dio cuenta de que estaba muy mal. Al llevarlo al veterinario, lo examinaron y se dieron cuenta de que alguien lo había golpeado y se había roto por dentro, mi mama lo mantuvo hidratado hasta el día siguiente en la noche no aguanto más, se despidió de la persona que más quería y cerro sus ojitos para siempre. Aunque es una historia muy triste y lamentable Christopher ocupo un lugar muy especial en la vida de muchas personas, y será recordado siempre por lo mismo, me alegra haber compartido esta historia con todos ustedes y quería recordarles que el amor si puede hacer grandes cambios en la vida de quien sea. Las cosas hechas con amor, siempre salen mejor, cuiden a sus animalitos y no dejen de darles amor hasta su ultimo día en la tierra.

I had to emigrate from Venezuela to Colombia and he was left in the good hands of his other mother (my mother) she always kept me updated on how he was doing and of course like any grandmother she had him super spoiled, more than he was already. Two weeks ago I received the terrible news that our beloved Christopher passed away, he did not use to approach strange people and he did not go far from the house, that night he went out to distract himself and to observe the street as he always did before going home to sleep, but he arrived earlier than usual without almost being able to stand up and with a frightened face, my mom approached him and realized that he was very bad. When they took him to the vet, they examined him and realized that someone had hit him and he had broken inside, my mom kept him hydrated until the next day at night he couldn't stand it anymore, he said goodbye to the person he loved the most and closed his eyes forever. Although it is a very sad and regrettable story, Christopher occupied a very special place in the lives of many people, and will always be remembered for the same, I am glad to have shared this story with all of you and I wanted to remind you that love can make big changes in anyone's life. Things done with love, always come out better, take care of your animals and don't stop giving them love until their last day on earth.
