[ENG] The headquarters building of the multinational company Procter & Gamble in Caracas [ESP] El Edificio sede la multinacional Procter & Gamble en Caracas
Dear readers of the communities of this great project, I will present today the headquarters building of one of the companies that settled in Venezuela in 1950, with a great reception from the public because it came to fill a void in the sale of cleaning products, personal hygiene and detergents. In 1981 the company opened its first detergent manufacturing plant in the country, in Barquisimeto, Lara State: It is the American company Procter & Gamble, a multinational consumer goods company, whose headquarters I present to you today. Recall that P&G emerged more than 200 years ago worldwide for the manufacture of candles and soaps to become the largest consumer goods company in the world. I must clarify, to be honest, that this company practically stopped producing its goods in Venezuela and only has commercial offices left.
The building that I am showing you today, conceived as a research center, was opened in 1998 after six years of construction; The architects who designed the project were Edmundo Díquez, a recently deceased victim of the Corona Virus, Oscar González and José A. Rivas. The photos are restricted to the parts visible from the street of the building, as the guards are very zealous in applying the rule of not allowing access to take pictures inside the building.
The 12,000-square-meter office building is strategically located in the Sorocaima urbanization in Trinidad, Caracas, Venezuela, at a road junction, occupying a corner that gives a great view for those who pass through the place, as well as to the occupants of the same.
The work, about 30 meters high, the ground floor and nine floors, is built in clean work bricks and slats; the continuous recessed windows, which are a fundamental part of the building's design, were chosen with care. The structure has a covered square inside, pergolas on the terraces, which creates a pleasant atmosphere that enjoys ample and generous lighting.
From the outside, you can see that the building is fundamentally a parallelepiped, accompanied by other geometric figures, which gives it a general shape of full and empty, masses and transparencies that give the sensation of a large portico building.
The building is closed internally with blue bars, designed by the artist Rafael Barrios, that border the open spaces on the ground floor. In 2005, it was declared "Asset of Cultural Interest of the Nation" by the Institute of Cultural Heritage.

Hello Benjamin. What an impressive building! With its solid geometric features, it appears to have embraced the Brutalist style of architecture plus the added touches of colors. It's great that you were able to personally capture photos of its exterior details. And it's also understandable that you weren't able to access the interior spaces since Procter & Gamble is a private company that treasures its security.
Many thanks for the marvelous architectural tour! Have an awesome weekend!
Hello dear Erne, good morning. Indeed, the building is impressive, with its brick structure, I think expanded polystyrene, metal, with its touch of colors, especially in its artistic internal grille. Too bad I could not take photos of the interior, but as you point out, it is a private company jealous of its facilities. I wish you a wonderful weekend.
