Thoughts about the newest Humble Drop: January 2024.png

Ahhhh... while I'm wiping out my mobile data bank trying to reinstall RogueTech on my laptop (with all the little quirks of installation), I think I have about half an hour to an hour to catch up on the latest January 2024 edition of the Humble Bundle monthly drop. Thankfully, before the Feburary one drops... but that is already been revealed as well! So, I will also have to hop onto that one as well!

So, January 2024.... I had sort of not really looked that hard at it, as I already own and have completed the headline act. But there are quite a few of the others that I was interested in when I had a second more recent look at the bundle!

And here we go!!!!

Midnight Suns
Two Point Campus
Aragami 2
OTXO
Roguebook
The Red Lantern
Hell Pie
Twin Mirror

Leading the Humble Bundle charge for January 2024, is the epic Marvel's Midnight Suns. Built by the developers of the legendary XCOM2... it was met with a bit of a lukewarm reception. XCOM players were hoping for something like XCOM with superheroes... and Marvel fans were perhaps looking for something a bit more superhero-y and less touchy-feely. I actually quite enjoyed the combat mixed with cards core gameplay... I wasn't such a fan of the at home conversations and background stuff... it was a bit teenage angst sort of thing, but overall the game was pretty satisfying to play! If I didn't have it already, this would be a great addition to the bundle... but it will go straight to my store page!

Next up is the follow on from the quirky Two Point Hospital... Two Point University does look like a touch of light fun, and I quite enjoyed the little bit that I played of Two Point Hospital, so I think that this will be a nice and fun game to pass the management hours away! A keeper!

Aragami 2 is a game that I have had on my wishlist for a while... and I have the original as well... sadly, not played yet... so, I will have to get playing that on my Deck! It looks like a great stealth action game, and the original had such a nice art style to it!

OTXI... a top down shooter. It looks pretty action packed, and the red and black styling is pretty cool... but these aren't my sorts of games, so I'm dumping this to straight to the Bengy keys store.

Roguebook is another that has been on my wish list for quite a bit... a pretty looking deckbuilder, I almost picked this up on a recent Steam sale... before remembering that it was already in this bundle! Sigh, will I never learn my lesson? Anyway, I'm glad that I didn't... and this is going straight on the Steam Deck!

Play as a dog-sledder in this adventure survival game, The Red Lantern.... it looks pretty cute, and I am always a fan of survival games, so I think I will just give this one a go... and the dogs look cute as all hell! It looks like it might be yet another Steam Deck game... I'm starting to install quite a lot of games there... and they are also just backlogging there as well... sigh...

Hell Pie... well, when a game is self describing as "obscene" and "bad taste"... well, I tend to get turned off it... just like when people self-describe as "crazy".... it is all a bit of a show, and turns out to be more than a touch shallow. I also don't like the look of the 3D platforming, and so I think I'm going to just dump this straight to the sale pile.

Twin Mirror on the other hand... looks awesome! A narrative game, and I'm sure that I probably should play this at home so that I don't get freaked out while staying in hotels by myself! I'm a chicken like that, so I will save it for when I feel safe... a keeper!
