Greetings friends lovers of architecture and design, I wish you a happy weekend in the company of your loved ones, I am happy to share with you my visit to the Museum of Contemporary Art of Cumana, according to information provided by the guide has about 25 years, its design consists of a large room where exhibitions of great artists, local, national and international are exhibited; It is located in the lower part of the Cerro la Eminencia, very close to the Castillo San Antonio de la Eminencia, my visit was intended to see the art exhibitions that are regularly held in this season, but the room is under maintenance and in the coming days the exhibition will be open to the public.
Saludos amigos amantes de la arquitectura y el diseño, les deseo un feliz fin de semana en unión de sus seres queridos, me siento feliz de compartir con ustedes mi visita a Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Cumaná, según la información suministrada por la guía tiene aproximadamente 25 años, su diseño consta de una sala amplia donde se exhiben las exposiciones de los grandes artistas, locales, nacionales e internacionales; se ubica en la parte baja del Cerro la Eminencia, muy cerca del Castillo san Antonio de la Eminencia, mi visita tenía como objetivo ver las exposiciones de arte que regularmente se realizan en esta temporada, pero la sala se encuentra en mantenimiento y en los próximos días estará abierta la exposición al público.
The facade consists of several panoramic windows with aluminum frames, in which several images allusive to the city of Cumaná can be appreciated: The Indian Sculpture, Santa Inés Church and the representative fruit of the State of Sucre; the Cacao; the internal part consists of several offices and a large exhibition hall with side and lower windows to allow the passage of sunlight.
La fachada está constituida por varias ventanas panorámicas con marco de aluminio, en los cuales se aprecian varias imágenes alusivas a la ciudad de Cumaná: La Escultura del Indio, Iglesia Santa Inés y el fruto representativo del Estado Sucre; el Cacao; la parte interna consta de varias oficinas y una gran sala de exposiciones que cuenta con ventanas laterales e inferiores para permitir el paso de la luz solar.
On the right side of the museum are located the stairs that give access to the Castle, also on one of the sides has other stairs that top of the museum are also located other stairs that allow climbing to the Castle through the roof of the museum, from this roof you can see much of the city and a great view of the Castle, the building is made of reinforced concrete panels located one behind the other leaving a small vertical space for the tinted glass windows that illuminate the exhibition hall.
Al lado derecho del museo se ubican las escaleras que dan acceso al Castillo, además en uno de los lados cuenta con otras escaleras que superior del museo también se ubican otras escaleras que permiten subir al Castillo pasando por el techo del museo, desde esta azotea se puede apreciar gran parte de la ciudad y una gran vista del Castillo, el edificio está hecho de paneles de concreto armado ubicados uno detrás del otro dejando un pequeño espacio vertical para las ventanas de vidrio polarizado que iluminan la sala de exposiciones.
Near the stairs leading to the castle there is a stone wall where several works of art made of iron, wood and cement are exhibited; although there was no exhibition in the museum I took the opportunity to take several pictures and climb the castle with my son, the day was sunny but it was a great visit to these outstanding buildings of the city; the museum also has a perimeter wall made of rocks and cement in the shape of an oval that protects this important building, from this wall you can also see the historic center of the city where the Santa Inés church and part of the San Francisco sector stand out.
Cerca de las escaleras que conducen al Castillo se encuentra un muro de piedra donde se exhiben varias obras de arte elaboradas en hierro, madera y cemento; aunque no había ninguna exposición en el museo aproveché la oportunidad para tomar varias fotos y subir al Castillo con mi hijo, el día estaba soleado pero fue una gran visita a estas destacadas construcciones de la ciudad; el museo tiene también un muro perimetral hecho de rocas y cemento en forma de óvalo que protege este importante edificio, desde este muro también se puede observar el casco histórico de la ciudad donde resalta la iglesia santa Inés y parte del sector san Francisco.
While I was on the wall I could see that on the left side of the museum there is also a staircase, which I thought gave access to the Castle, as I approached I noticed that you can go up there but with some difficulty, perhaps at some time it served as a passage to the Castle, even this way shortens the distance to climb the hill of Eminence and its outstanding construction; The museum is administered by the state government and has guides that make the visit a great learning experience, they explain in detail the exhibitions and the works of each artist; I hope in the coming days to attend the Christmas exhibition that each year organizes the museum.
Mientras estaba en el muro pude observar que al lado izquierdo del museo también se ubica una escalera, la cual pensé que daba acceso al Castillo, al acercarme pude notar que se puede subir por allí pero con cierta dificultad, tal vez en algún tiempo sirvió de paso para el Castillo, incluso por esta vía se acorta la distancia para subir al cerro la Eminencia y su destacada construcción; el museo es administrado por la gobernación del estado y cuenta con guías que hacen de la visita una gran experiencia de aprendizaje, van explicando con detalle las exposiciones y las obras de cada artista; espero en los próximos días poder asistir a la exposición navideña que cada año organiza el museo.
