Hola, comunidad Hive, mi nombre es Belkis Carolina Rondón de González, y estoy muy emocionada de presentarme y compartir un poquito de mi. Primeramente decirles que soy Venezolana y vivo en la ciudad de San Cristóbal capital del Estado Táchira.

Hablar de uno mismo a veces resulta difícil y más si es para que otros sepan algo de ti. Por eso les contare parte de mis orígenes y algunas de esas experiencias que me han permitido llegar a ser quien soy.

Hello, Hive community, my name is Belkis Carolina Rondón de González, and I am very excited to introduce myself and share a little bit about myself. First of all, I am Venezuelan and I live in the city of San Cristobal, the capital of Tachira.

Talking about yourself is sometimes difficult and even more so if you want others to know something about you. That's why I will tell you part of my origins and some of those experiences that have allowed me to become who I am.

Tu bebé nació y es una niña

Nací hace 55 años en Rubio, también ciudad perteneciente al Táchira. Yo soy la mezcla del llano y la montaña, llano por mi papá Baudilio del Carmen quien vino de Guasdualito a estudiar en Rubio; y montaña por mi mamá Ana Mireya, quien no dudó ni un momento en fijarse en esos ojos verdosos, rayados del chico nuevo del pueblo.

Mi hermana Marisela y yo nacimos de la bella unión de una joven morena y un joven blanco y nuestra piel tomó el tono intermedio entre ambos.

Soy la mayor, mi hermana vino al mundo 7 años después, pero siempre nos criamos muy cercanas, con mucho amor. Me contaba mamá, que yo trataba a mi hermanita con mucho amor desde pequeña, ese amor nunca desapareció; inclusive ahora pues desde hace un año ya no esta físicamente con nosotros.😢 😭

Your baby is born and it's a girl

I was born 55 years ago in Rubio, also a city in Táchira. I am the mixture of the plain and the mountain, plain because of my father Baudilio del Carmen who came from Guasdualito to study in Rubio; and mountain because of my mother Ana Mireya, who did not hesitate for a moment to notice those greenish, lined eyes of the new boy in town.

My sister Marisela and I were born from the beautiful union of a young brunette and a young white man and our skin took the intermediate tone between the two.

I am the oldest, my sister came into the world 7 years later, but we always grew up very close, with a lot of love. My mother used to tell me that I treated my little sister with a lot of love since she was a little girl, that love never disappeared; even now, since a year ago she is no longer physically with us.😢 😭

¿Qué hace un llanero en Rubio?

Ahora ¿por qué llegó mi papá a estudiar a Rubio? Él quería tener una profesión, su infancia la vivió en pleno llano, adorando sus amaneceres y atardeceres, montando a caballo desde pequeño. Hasta que cumplió 12 años fue cuando él comenzó a estudiar, si 12 años y lo que más me enorgullece de ser su hija, es que llegó a ser decano en la Universidad Nacional Experimental del Táchira (UNET).

En Guasdualito no había donde estudiar bachillerato y la opción más cercana era Rubio o San Cristóbal. Así que un día este hombre delgado, de ojos verdosos y cabello negro llego a Rubio, buscando alcanzar su sueño de educarse y tener otro futuro.

Rubio en ese entonces ya despuntaba como una pequeña ciudad con buenas instituciones educativas públicas como el Liceo Carlos Rangel Lamus y el Gervasio Rubio. Ahora se preguntaran, ¿qué tenía de especial esta ciudad? Para ese entonces, estamos hablando por allá en el año 1964, Rubio era un importante productor cafetalero por lo que en su entorno se asentaron instituciones que formaban bachilleres que se graduaban con un oficio osea bachilleres meción mecánica, agropecuaria, asistencial o docencia.

¿Y cómo se conocieron mamá y papá? Mamá nos contaba que un día de regreso del liceo lo vió con unas amigas de ella mientras bajaba del bus. En ese entonces ella ya había decidido que quería ser maestra, y estaba estudiando en el liceo Gervasio Rubio. Ese fue el inicio de una historia que éste 2021 cumple 56 años.

What's a ranger doing in Rubio city?

Now, why did my dad come to study in Rubio? He wanted to have a profession, he lived his childhood in the middle of the plains, adoring its sunrises and sunsets, riding horses since he was a child. He was 12 years old when he began to study, yes 12 years old, and what makes me most proud of being his daughter is that he became the dean of the Universidad Nacional Experimental del Táchira (UNET).

In Guasdualito there was nowhere to study high school and the closest option was Rubio or San Cristobal. So one day this thin, green-eyed, black-haired man came to Rubio, seeking to achieve his dream of an education and a better future.

Rubio at that time already stood out as a small town with good public educational institutions such as the Carlos Rangel Lamus and Gervasio Rubio high schools. Now you may ask, what was so special about this city? At that time, we are talking about the year 1964, Rubio was an important coffee producer, so in its surroundings were settled institutions that formed high school graduates who graduated with trade, that is, mechanical, agricultural, welfare, or teaching high school graduates.

And how did mom and dad meet? Mom told us that one day on her way home from high school she saw him with some of her friends as she was getting off the bus. At that time she had already decided that she wanted to be a teacher, and was studying at the Gervasio Rubio High School. That was the beginning of a story that will be 56 years old this 2021.

Una mudanza y una nueva vida

Mis padres, mi hermana y yo vivimos en Rubio hasta 1984, nos mudamos a San Cristóbal porque papá comenzó a trabajar en la UNET. Ese año me tocó viajar unas 3 veces por semana para terminar el bachillerato y mi hermana, tuvo que quedarse en casa de la abuela porque estaba terminando el 6to grado. Ya después de eso nuestros estudios fueron en San Cristóbal.

Aunque me gradué de bachiller asistencial, es decir enfermería, estudié Arquitectura en la UNET y mi hermana Derecho en la Universidad Católica del Táchira. Pude estudiar en una universidad pública con estandares altos, con excelentes profesores. Lo que siempre me encantó de la UNET es que podía disfrutar de amplios espacios abiertos, con vegetación y donde nos podiamos reunirnos para hacer trabajos, estudiar o pasar un rato entre compañeros.

¿Cómo termine estudiando arquitectura? A mi siempre me gustaba dibujar, pintar y quería estudiar algo relacionado con diseño, pero para esa época lo más cercano era arquitectura. Es una profesión hermosa que me permitió conquistar otros sueños. Estando en el 3er semestre invitan a una arquitecta a dar una charla sobre avaluos y desde ese momento quede fascinada con el área de la tasación o avaluos de bienes inmuebles.

Ya graduada y luego de dejar mi currículo en varias empresas e instituciones, comencé a trabajar en la Contraloría del Táchira en la inspección y control posterior de obras públicas. Luego pude especializarme en Análisis de inversiones inmobiliarias ya que estaba relacionada con los avaluos. Después logré sacar mis credenciales como avaluadora profesional, eso por alla en el año 2006.

A move and a new life

My parents, my sister, and I lived in Rubio until 1984, we moved to San Cristobal because my father started working at the UNET. That year I had to travel three times a week to finish high school and my sister had to stay at my grandmother's house because she was finishing 6th grade. After that our studies were in San Cristóbal.

Although I graduated with a bachelor's degree in nursing, I studied architecture at UNET and my sister studied law at the Catholic University of Táchira. I was able to study in a public university with high standards, with excellent professors. What I always loved about the UNET is that I could enjoy wide-open spaces, with vegetation, and where we could meet to do work, study, or hang out with classmates.

How did I end up studying architecture? I always liked drawing, painting and I wanted to study something related to design, but at that time the closest thing was architecture. It is a beautiful profession that allowed me to conquer other dreams. When I was in the 3rd semester, an architect was invited to give a talk about appraisals, and from that moment on I was fascinated with the area of real estate appraisals.

Already graduated and after leaving my resume in several companies and institutions, I started working in the Comptroller's Office of Táchira in the inspection and subsequent control of public works. Then I was able to specialize in real estate investment analysis since it was related to appraisals. Then I managed to get my credentials as a professional appraiser, which was back in 2006.

¿Me invitas un café?

Ya estando trabajando conocí al que sería mi esposo, Freddy Isaac, un ingeniero civil. Cuando empezamos a salir tuve esa impresión que ésto no iba hacer como los otros novios y que iba a tener que tomar una decisión importante en mi vida, y así a los 6 meses nos casamos y a los 4 años nació nuestro hijo Iván Darío.

Ya conocía el amor como esposa, como hija, como hermana; pero cuando nació Iván fue otra cosa. Es algo que no se puede describir, es una energía, una fuerza impulsora, que te hace ser mejor porque tienes a tu cargo un ser inocente que necesita de ti, no sé si a todos les pasa igual pero fue mi caso. Y todo esto comenzó con un cafecito…

Buy me a coffee?

While I was working I met my future husband, Freddy Isaac, a civil engineer. When we started dating I had the impression that this was not going to be like the other boyfriends and that I was going to have to make an important decision in my life, and so after 6 months we got married and 4 years later our son Iván Darío was born.

I already knew love as a wife, as a daughter, as a sister; but when Ivan was born it was something else. It is something that cannot be described, it is an energy, a driving force that makes you better because you are in charge of an innocent being who needs you, I don't know if it happens to everyone but it was my case. And all of this started with a cup of coffee?

Todo está cambiando

La vida no es estática sino dinámica y en nuestro país lo sabemos de sobra. Hemos tenido que cambiar paradigmas, plantearnos nuevos retos, ser creativos, en fin dar un giro de 180°. En mi caso renuncie a mi trabajo ya con 20 años de servicio para plantearme nuevos desafíos. Como ya tenía 10 años de experiencia en el área de los avaluos, me encaminé por allí.

Había algo que me llamaba mucho la atención y era cómo generar ingresos por internet. Para mi fue una búsqueda de varios años pues no conseguía personas que compartieran las mismas inquietudes, ni familiares ni amigos. Comencé con videos en YouTube, pero nadie compartía lo que sabía.

Preguntando aquí y allá llegue a las páginas de trabajos pero me parecían que era mucho el tiempo que le dedicaba para el retorno que recibía.

Esta inquietud y el deseo de mejorar me llevaron a investigar, a estudiar. Con el inicio de la pandemia y el despegue del trabajo remoto, de mayor información sobre el blockchain y las criptomonedas, aplique para una beca en Platzi. Las becas éste año las otorgaron sólo a mujeres.

Había olvidado la beca hasta que un día recibo un correo de un remitente desconocido, pero cuando vi que era de platzi y leí que había ganado una de las becas, no lo podía creer. Leí varias veces para cerciorarme que era cierto. Formo parte de un grupo de maravillosas mujeres de todas la edades, que desean una mejor calidad de vida para ellas y sus familias.

Allí conocí a @arlettemsalase, ya que ambas nos ganamos la beca de estudios. Y ha tenido la amabiliadad de hablarme del ecosistema, de su experiencia de lo que ha podido lograr con HIVE y lo que ésto ha significado para ella y su familia.

Estar aquí también ha sido posible gracias a @laloretoyya, que a través de sus talleres pude aprender qué es HIVE, cómo trabaja el ecosistemas y muchos otros tips para iniciar con buen pie en ésta maravillosa comunidad.

Realmente estoy emocionada de estar en HIVE, me encanta este espíritu colaborativo. Por aquí estaré compartiendo de arquitectura, fotografía, marketing, bienes raices y hasta cine. Espero aportar a la comunidad y colocar mi granito de arena para que ésta comunidad siga creciendo.

Everything is changing

Life is not static but dynamic and in our country, we know this all too well. We have had to change paradigms, set ourselves new challenges, be creative, in short, make a 180° turn. In my case, I resigned from my job after 20 years of service to take on new challenges. As I already had 10 years of experience in the area of appraisals, I went that way.

There was something that caught my attention and it was how to generate income online. For me, it was a search of several years because I couldn't find people who shared the same concerns, neither family nor friends. I started with videos on YouTube, but no one shared what I knew.

I was asking around here and there and I got to the job sites but it seemed to me that it was too much time for the return I was getting.

This restlessness and the desire to improve led me to investigate, to study. With the onset of the pandemic and the takeoff of remote work, more information about blockchain and cryptocurrencies, I applied for a scholarship at Platzi. The scholarships this year were awarded only to women.

I had forgotten about the scholarship until one day I received an email from an unknown sender, but when I saw that it was from Platzi and read that I had won one of the scholarships, I couldn't believe it. I read it several times to make sure it was true. I am part of a group of wonderful women of all ages who want a better quality of life for themselves and their families.

There I met @arlettemsalase, as we both won the scholarship. And she was kind enough to tell me about the ecosystem, her experience of what she has been able to achieve with HIVE, and what this has meant for her and her family.

This here has also been possible thanks to @laloretoyya, who through her workshops I was able to learn what HIVE is, how the ecosystem works, and many other tips to start off on the right foot in this wonderful community.

I'm excited to be on HIVE, I love this collaborative spirit. Here I will be sharing architecture, photography, marketing, real estate, and even film. I hope to contribute to the community and do my bit to keep growing.
