Honesty Pays Better

One of the characteristics of humans that build trust is honesty. Honesty is essential in our everyday partnership with others as it helps build your reputation.

I will be sharing a brief story about myself pointing to honesty and how it will affect the lives of others positively. But firstly I will consider what honesty.

What is honesty?
Honesty is the state of been honest, meaning you are fair and just in everything you do. It builds peoples trust in you. But in this current global economic hardship how do you still maintain your status of been honest?
This will lead me to share a short story about myself.

My Story
During my days in the high school, I got myself attached to a job. A home based tutoring job.

I used to teach a little boy then by name Dominion. His parents were good at first to me but along the line in a bid to make more income, I decided to search for another type of job to add to my previous job.

I was still consistent with my previous tutorial job. Along the line, I discovered the parents of my student were becoming a bit harsh on me due to the fact I arrive a bit late for which I do cover up with extended time. They became harsh on me and delayed my payment.

I got pissed off and didn’t know what to do. When I talked to the parent, they don’t give a positive respond but I also understand the fact that I needed to be patient with them too.

When They Needed Me The Most
It came to a point in time during the delay of payment; my student was supposed to take an emergency exam which the parents weren’t be available for monitoring.

They searched all over family friends and none was available too. I was called upon to please help take care of the child during the exam at his location.

At first, I wanted to reject but I thought as much as been honest to them by hearing their request, I quickly made myself available and helped out.
When the exam was concluded, my student passed. The parents called me to apologize over their inconsistent payment of which I forgave them and was paid.

Later on, I got a call again from them demanding for my assistance as it doesn’t regards my previous job. They only did that because of the trust they had in me though it was about standing in for a huge sum of deposit.
I honestly helpe them to them to do so and was rewarded in kind and cash.

Conclusively
It’s good to be honest anywhere you find yourself because It builds your reputation and trust.
