Our new normal

(Edited)

Today was the second day of our new normal.

No schedules, no OCD cleaning throughout the day ~ basically, we're now winging it.

It's a big change for me (and maybe for her too) not having a routine. I used to think routines would help get her into a pattern and for a while it did. But I noticed as she grew older she would stay up longer and the routine would be out of whack.

Of course this also means I don't get my usual "breaks" anymore. No more "Just hang in there and it's nap time soon." breaks for my back and sanity.

Or the little breaks I get to tidy up and do the washing... Unless I want to wear her.

Despite the new changes, the messy house and lack of sleep I think we had a good day.

There was only one nap worth counting which lasted only an hour and I wish I wasn't trying to do the grocery shopping then because by the time I dozed off she woke up.

Thank god for the cot.

I think I got a 5 minute micro nap in before she started complaining.

Today's lesson?
(Ok, reminder of a previous lesson...)
Nap when the baby naps!

I used to do this but since I started blogging again Ive been using up precious time writing so I need to sort out a new system.

With that said, I'm off to bed!

Good night Hivers 🐝🐝

She’s so adorable!! Me too I use up all the nap time to do my own things and then I’m exhausted.. keep on keeping on mama! 💪🏻 you got this!

Aww thanks @vincy! Been thinking of you and your little one. Hope you guys are doing well. It's hard trying to find balance between napping and "me" time, but at some point, nap wins by default.

🤗 for me napping in the morning/sleeping in works best for me, cos after I’ve woken and changed I can’t sleep again hehe. I’m bad at naps.
We’ve been ok baby is good but so active and demanding haha.. we’re away on our first trip ever with him and it’s stressful in the car! Need lots of stops cos he doesn’t like it and can’t stay asleep for more than 30minutes

Also got a whole new life starting here... with my son having now moved to online schooling full time. Love having him with me all the time and no more lunchboxes and uniforms! haha :) !tip

There's quite a few homeschoolers here in hive so you're in great company.

Yes! Nap when the baby naps! That should refresh you a bit. Your health and sanity outweighs the laundry. 😜

Lol yep! The laundry can definitely wait especially now that she's not napping a lot.
