Rain Rain Go Away

To me, rain is the season to look forward to among all the other fancy dresses mother earth wears at different times throughout the year. People think I am depressed when I say, nothing to me feels more profound than the dark and ominous clouds floating in the heavens. As they are doing so right now, some of which I can see if I look out of the window in front.

Epitome of Bohemia

I, a young boy from Dhaka, love to call myself a white coated bohemian. Some might stumble to hear what this white coat refers to! Haha, that’s as my life has mostly been circling within a hospital and a med school. So yeah, I am a med student currently with a head full of bohemian dreams and that is me, out of my own league. I attribute myself as one as my interests include travelling, reading books, calligraphy, photography, music, creative writing, motor vehicles and only music taste matches the interest with my friends and so in others I am a lonely wolf.

My childhood was mostly spent around my neighborhood, having a large peer group which still exists. Playing cricket, football, cycling and running these are all I did while growing up apart from watching cartoon network and spending my hours in the computer playing Need For Speed. School schedules were just passing time while making friends and talking about this and that with my buddies. That’s how a group of friends are built, right? But honestly, summer and winter times were the best. Going to the village, climbing trees, running after a cattle herd, visiting relatives with my grandparents and the most exciting part was listening to the folk tales my grandma used to tell me. Still some of which echo in my mind.

Love for Lettering!

Struggling with bad handwriting, still I've a fascination with hand lettering and calligraphy. I can go for hours with those absorbing videos where with every soothing stroke, the calligraphy artists make the whole journey a therapeutic one. I always get mesmerized by those ornamented letters especially the Arabic one because it feels like calligraphy is meant to be for Arabic.

So from this interest, sometimes I tried different font styles from YouTube but mostly I lost hope as I sucked in it. Then officially, I got in touch with Bangla calligraphy in three days of workshops and Chinese for two but I don't want to mark them as experiences, as those were just some basic ideas and techniques on lettering. So after a long break for years, I sat down with a notepad of my loved one and started thinking about what can be done. Instead of random doodling, I go for typography.
