In this rapidly changing world, full of good, bad and indifferent, Awareness Is Key. Awareness could be the key to surviving in this thing we call life.. Unless you are lucky enough to have nine of them! This GIF image was created using food, time, creativity and of course cats. Yes, I said food. That thingy spinning in the center, the thing the cats are aware of and curious about.. That was originally a photograph of an M&M I took for a drawing. A Little More About The Art ..

I set out with a goal in mind. I wanted to create my first GIF. It’s a simple GIF, but took me forever to create. It was a learning process and I had no prior experience were know how to work with. I tried my best at creating some thing interesting but within my very novice capability skill set.

Art Inspired By Food ..

It’s funny how this one came about. I started with a simple photograph of an M&M candy. I took the photograph in order to draw a sketch of it one day on my lunch break.

At a later point in time I decided to play around with the Photograph on a photo editing software platform. I came up with some interesting photograph manipulations.

After having spent a good deal of time looking at one in particular manipulation of the photograph, I decided that this was going to be the one that I turned into a GIF. At first it appeared to me that the image looked like a key coming through a lock hole from the opposite direction, with light flooding in. Then I think I looked at it way too long and it almost appeared to be spinning in my eyes. That’s where the original idea came from.

The Addition Of Cats ..

Adding cats to the mix is never a bad idea.. Right? .. Later on I thought to myself, I think a set of cats would be very curious to what this spinning thing is. This imagination was most likely fueled by countless hours spent watching videos of cats. Now that I think of it, most likely that was the case from the beginning. I really need to stop watching those entertaining cat videos.

So what did I do? I added cats into my artwork.

I’m very proud of my accomplishment in creating this GIF. I also think these cats were a cute touch to the piece of art, and like me they could sit there for hours staring at the spinning M & M variation.
