Sweet and Savory Boiled Cassava (Thai Cassava)

Hi Foodies! Last Saturday, my friend and I were looking for cassava around the campus backyard, and we got quite a lot of cassava. I think I can eat the cassava we got for the next few days. I've been eating boiled cassava for a few days as a snack. And yup, I just boiled it without any mixture. Because my boarding house does not have equipment for cooking, I only have a rice cooker in my boarding house. Still, it's a versatile tool for me.

Today I tried to add a little flavor to my boiled cassava. To relieve boredom when eating cassava for the next few days. I added a sauce made of coconut milk and sugar. Very simple, but addictive.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 small cassava
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Packaged coconut milk
  • 2 Cup of Water

How to make:

  • Peel the cassava from the skin, then wash thoroughly.
  • Cut the cassava into several pieces.
  • Enter the cassava and 1 cup water into a container until it boils.
  • Add a little salt (Salt will give the cassava a savory taste).
  • Boil until the cassava texture becomes soft.
  • Lift and drain.

Next, make the coconut milk. Because I only have one tool for cooking, I cook coconut milk after the cassava is done.

How to make:

  • Put half a glass of water into the container.
  • Add four tablespoons of granulated sugar, then stir until melted.
  • Open the coconut milk and mix it into a bowl.
  • If all the ingredients have mixed, stir until the water boils.
  • Taste. If you get the right taste. You can lift it and move it to another container.

Well, after finishing cooking cassava and coconut milk. The next thing to do is mix the cassava with coconut milk which is still warm.

I think it will be better if it is added with ice cubes. The savory taste of cassava combines with the sweetness of coconut milk. Yum, I can't stop eating it. If you have the ingredients, you should try making your own at home. The ingredients are easy to get. The manufacturing process is also easy.
