My Obsession With This Food

Hello, fellow food enthusiasts!

Is it just me, or do you do this too? I'm talking about the habit of indulging in your favorite foods repeatedly until you grow tired of them.

Lately, I've become quite obsessed with a particular type of food. As someone who rarely ventures into new culinary territory, I sometimes find myself trapped in these recurring habits. I'm not sure if I can call it being "trapped" when it's my own desire. Hehe.

When I come across a delicious dish that aligns perfectly with my taste buds, I can't help but keep savoring it until I genuinely get bored with it. One of my latest obsessions is this dish called "Kwetiaw." Previously, I did the same thing with "ayam geprek" at a restaurant that served tongue-tingling sambal. Even though I'm not a big fan of spicy food, the sambal was so hypnotic. Now, I find myself in a similar situation with kwetiaw.

For almost every night in the past two weeks, I've been exclusively having kwetiaw, and I still haven't grown tired of it. Since I'm heading back to my hometown this Saturday, I decided to order it again for tonight's dinner because I know I'll miss the juicy sensation I get from devouring this dish. This time, I ordered kwetiaw with a mix of meatballs. But unfortunately, the restaurant ran out of meatballs and substituted them with slices of sausage. It was a bit disappointing, but never mind, I'm not the type to complain about little things like that. Haha.

Not only did I order kwetiaw, but I also got myself a serving of Fried Vermicelli Noodles, which looked and tasted equally enticing.

I usually order more food at once to take advantage of any discounts. But, I can't consume it all in one sitting after having kwetiaw, though, as the kwetiaw I ate was quite filling. Typically, I enjoy it during late-night study sessions or in the morning.

In the end, I've realized that I need to stop consuming things excessively. Going back to my hometown for a while will give me the chance to take a break and savor my mom's home-cooked meals. I can't wait to go back.

How about you? Have you ever found yourself in a similar situation as the one I described above?
