In my collection there are a lot of postage stamps issued in the Soviet Union, since I was born there and there I got a hobby of philately.

For many people of our world, the USSR was presented as a brown bear that roams the snowy desert, and there is some truth in this, lol.

It is enough to look out the window and I will see a snow storm that hides from me the bears, whose army, now, has surrounded Ukraine and keeps the whole world in suspense.

I want to escape from disturbing thoughts and get out of the cold to warmer climes.

But, such desires can be a little dangerous, especially if you are traveling through time and space.

Today, the direction of our movement, we will be prompted by a postage stamp from series Flowers 1971, issued in the Republic of the Congo in 1971.

If you combine the equatorial climate of this country in the central part of the African continent and this year, you get a very hot spot.

The period from 1970 to 1978 was very tense, the armed uprising of anti-communists, the killings, repression, change of power and other delights.

But, despite this, the issue of postage stamps continued there, and, moreover, of a very solid quality, excellent printing.

The first postage stamp in this series was a 1 FCFA - Central African CFA franc postage stamp featuring a flowering, climbing plant called Cogniauxia padolaena.

I could not find information about this plant, Google search is silent and does not respond to the Latin name of this plant which reminds me of plants from the pea family.

I suggest you take a look at this postage stamp.
