PHOTO of the DAY - Hourglass

When poets, writers and singers want to show the passage of time in their works, they often compare life with an hourglass, which inexorably, grain by grain, strives to fill the lower part of the clock flask, while leaving the upper container empty.

This autumn leaf is very similar to an hourglass and its symbolism is the same.

Maples of the leaf in the upper part have already crumbled and the process continues, leaving empty streaks through which eternity can be seen.
