Pinhole photography

We have a rectangular tin pinhole so the photos are landscape type. So one day someone gave me a wooden pencil holder with a square base and not long after I decided to make a pinhole camera, mainly because I wanted square photos.
I made a small hole in the base to which I glued a small piece of aluminum (from a beer can) and then I made a hole with a needle, the smallest I could find. Finally, I painted the camera black and also a little red on the outside, I loved how it looked.
And well, then it's time to take photos! I use that Ilford paper for the images, which I have to cut in the dark room because the size is larger than the camera. I glue the piece of paper to the lid of the camera and tape it to the wooden box / camera with black tape. I also cover the small hole on the other side of the camera with black tape. I go out to the garden, locate the camera, remove the black tape and let the light come in for the necessary time and then I go to the dark room and put the paper in the chemicals to develop the image. And so, the amount of photos that I want to take, I can spend hours and hours doing this.

Then comes the scanning part. I scan the images in grayscale and invert them since the image is negative on the paper.
Some of the photos I took with this camera

Thanks! 💜
No film, paper directly into the camera. It is not easy and making self portrait even less! Pure hard work.

It's good to see people are still practicing on older styles to keep these skills and techniques relevant
