Phuket is not only beautiful beaches and nature but there are also beautiful temples many more attractions. Wat Phra Thong or Wat Phra Phut is A hidden wonder in another corner of Phuket. Fascinating old temple with sacred myths and legends of the Big Buddha. Which emerged from the ground only Phra Ketmala (head) and sprang up from the ground one and a half, which is the origin of the name.

Wat Phra Thong is a temple 20 kilometers north of Phuket Town in Amphoe Thalang. It is home to an ancient half-buried golden Buddha statue called Luang Poh Phra Thong (Golden Buddha) located on its grounds. Its history can be traced back to 1783 during the invasion of the Burmese troops. It's also known as Wat Phra Phud, meaning 'Temple of the protruding Buddha'

สวัสดีคร้าาาาา..... ภูเก็ตไม่ได้เป็นเพียงชายหาดทรายขาวละเอียด น้ำทะเลใสๆ และธรรมชาติที่สวยงามเท่านั้น แต่ยังมีวัดวาอารามที่สวยงามอีกมากมาย หนึ่งในนั้นก็คือวัดพระทอง หรือวัดพระพุดเป็นสิ่งมหัศจรรย์ที่ซ่อนอยู่ในอีกมุมหนึ่งของภูเก็ต เป็นวัดเก่าแก่มีตำนานศักดิ์สิทธิ์ วัดพระทองเป็นวัดห่างจากตัวเมืองภูเก็ตไปทางเหนือ 20 กิโลเมตร ในอำเภอถลาง เป็นที่ประดิษฐานพระพุทธรูปทองคำครึ่งองค์โบราณที่เรียกว่าหลวงพ่อพระทอง ประวัติศาสตร์สามารถสืบย้อนไปถึงปี พ.ศ. 2326 ระหว่างการรุกรานของกองทหารพม่า พยายามขุดพระผุดเพื่อนำกลับไปพม่า แต่ขุดลงไปก็จะมีฝูงแตนไล่ต่อย จนต้องล้มเลิกความตั้งใจ ต่อมาชาวบ้านได้นำทองหุ้มพระพุทธรูปที่ผุดจากพื้นดินเพียงครึ่งองค์ ทำให้เป็นที่รู้จักกันในนามวัดพระพุด
