Are Move To Earn Cryptocurrencies Dead?

For like a year now I've not been a fan of crypto projects incentivizing users that do not even the slightest care about their economic health and whatever, mostly everybody there has an agenda to exploit as much value as possible.

Move to earn started on Hive with actifit, I'd like to believe so, I cannot quite recall if I did use actifit but if I did, I probably didn't for long. These technologies are easy to exploit, you can just be sitting and shaking your phone and it counts, you earn the crypto asset, you could be in a moving vehicle and still earn the coins, I've particularly noted this with the Sweat coin move to earn app, it's that easy to exploit.

Now, added to this, one can earn these tokens without even visiting the app for once after signing up and I believe this is one of the stupidest things I've seen in a while, like, how dumb is this? So I'm supposedly using an app that's paying me for doing absolutely nothing? At this point it's obvious that unless something changes, these moves to earn cryptocurrencies are going to zero, they are dead from the onset.

Economies are built around people

Imagine an economy without social involvement, how does that work? You create something to incentivize people, you are not a non-profit but you lack what should leverage the larger percentage of your userbase for profit, isn't that crazy?

Everybody using the sweat app can earn without visiting the app, ever, all you need is to do allow it to run in the background and you're good. Funny thing is that people do not care about those discounts sales they publicize, we all know that the discount prices are the original prices, so fuck that shit and those are not use cases and these crypto coins are worthless, wait until top earners move to dump their holdings and you'll see users leave.

An application monetized by advertisements is not able to get people to actually come in and watch ads? Run a freaking weekly contest or something? Start a fitness battle or something, give people a reason to log in more often, monetize the fuckin userbase and stop waiting for your inevitable death.

Move to earn is dead, at the moment, there's nothing interesting about it, there's no project in that circle that I can point out to be doing it right, none. Projects like Stepn just seems like fraud to me, outrightly robbing a user from day one, fuckin crazy.

For the handful of the projects that won't survive the long term, these moves to earn coins are one of the many that will go as they really give no reasons for investors to hold it up, none. If you're going to monetize fitness you have to look deeper, how can a fitness app not have a full house of fitness products that are eye grabbing? Make it that only the native asset of the project can be used to purchase these things?

How? It all makes me wonder if these teams don't comprise of business growth planners or something, fuckin sad really.

Thank you and please leave a comment, your thoughts matter to me

In every ecosystem or sector, majority of projects fail, the few successful ones generally attract more value than any of the dead ones would have, so it's all good.

They are not dead, but I think there is more to come.
It needs to be easier and more motivating for users, and that may take a while..... and many tests

Not sure.
If you see this blog the lympo app discontinues its operation - apparently due to the prolonged bear time? I dont know
I am watching the space and we are lucky to have actifit here, I really hope that this project goes forward.

Same as you, I haven't used actifit for a while.
But now, I already switched to @strava2hive, a tool that helps you to make a post of Strava activity on Hive without any additional app. Even it's in the testing phase but I see it run quite smoothly on my account.
You can take a look on it.
