[ENG-TR] A Workmanship; Furniture Making —||— Bir Zanaat; Mobilyacılık.

Hello everyone! I embrace everyone from Corum. :) Since I came here, I've been studying software at home. I'm really into this job. As the subjects progress, I get hopeless. Yesterday I went out for the first time because my brother asked me to help him with his business. My brother is a furniture manufacturer. He has been doing this job since his childhood. For the last 10 years, he has been working alone in his own workplace. But the furniture business is a heavy business and there is always a need for an "apprentice". That apprentice was me yesterday. 😂

Actually, I didn't do much. I just held the ends of things while carrying heavy things. While doing this, I thought whether software or furniture craftsmanship was easier. Both are very difficult. 😂 I guess I'm a lazy person. First of all, I want to show you my brother's workshop just below our house.

The areas you see in the photos above are the large area at the entrance of the workshop. My brother finalises the products he makes on the big table in the middle of this area. If there is a product he is working on on this table, it means that when this product comes down from this table, it is ready to be taken to the customer and assembled. The products you see around the table are exactly like this and they are waiting for their turn to be taken to the customer and assembled.

The part you see in the photos above is the interior of the workshop. This is also a very large area. To get here, you need to go through the door in the entrance room. It is forbidden to enter here except for personnel. Because there are piercing and cutting tools and machines. The table with the green floor in the photographs is a machine used for cutting large boards (Mdf, chipboard, plywood) into small pieces called plates. It makes a lot of noise and dust while working. The orange machine is used to glue a thin surface of the same colour as the wood on the edges of the boards to make the cut marks disappear. When I was little, they used to do this with a member. 😂

This corner is the area where my brother made the drawings of the products he measured and used to rest and host his guests. Now I can move on to the stage where we will see the assembly and finalisation of the products.

The vehicle whose chassis we see in the photo above is my brother's pickup truck. Here is a small part of the products we took home (3rd floor) to assemble. This is exactly the part where me and my father are useful. 😂 In the other photo, there is a team chance. The top covers of the tool chest are normally plastic. Probably, those plastic lids were broken, and my brother made a lid from the leftover wood. 😂

There's some assembly work going on here. This is the children's room of a house. Since there are 4 small children living in the house, two double bunk beds are made in this room. My brother knows where and how to place all the parts, where to glue and where to screw. He tells my father and me where to hold and what to bring. We unconsciously do what we are told. When we first went, I didn't even know exactly what to do here. 😂

The works you see above are actually not related to my brother and his profession. In one of them, he is filing the iron railing that Ramazan placed on the upper floor with an iron cutting machine, and in the other, he is moving the socket closed by the bunk bed from the wall to the inside of the bunk bed. These are simple jobs that take a few minutes. However, if my brother didn't understand these things like me, two other craftsmen would have to come; an electrician and a blacksmith.

Here's the final bunk beds. Everything's in place. All that's left is the cleaning. The cleaning work belongs to the landlord. This assembly took about 2 hours, including moving the products. It's really hard work. There are so many details. I used to help my brother in this way when I was little, but it was nice to experience it again after a long time. Herkese merhaba! Çorum’dan herkesi kucaklıyorum. :) Buraya geldiğimden beri, evde yazılım çalışıyorum. Bu işe iyice kendimi kaptırdım. Konular ilerledikçe umutsuzluğa kapıldığım oluyor. Fakat gene de şansımı zorluyorum. Dün ilk defa dışarıya çıktım. Çünkü abim işiyle ilgili kendisine yardım etmem istedi. Abim, bir mobilya imalatçısı. Çocukluğundan beri bu işi yapıyor. Son 10 senedir de kendi iş yerinde tek başına çalışıyor. Fakat Mobilya işi ağır bir iş ve her zaman bir “çırak” ihtiyacı oluyor. İşte o çırak dün bendim. 😂

Bu işi, babamla birlikte üstlendik. Aslında ben, pek bir şey yapmadım. Sadece ağır olan eşyaları taşırken, bir şeylerin ucundan tuttum. Bunu yaparken de yazılım mı yoksa mobilyacılık zanaati mi daha kolay diye düşündüm. İkisi de çok zor. 😂 Galiba ben tembel bir insanım. Öncelikle, size abimin, evimizin hemen altındaki, atölyesini gezdirmek istiyorum.

Yukarıdaki fotoğraflarda gördüğünüz alanlar, atölyenin girişindeki geniş alan. Abim buranın ortasında bulunan büyük masada, yaptığı ürünlerin son halini veriyor. Bu masada, üzerinde çalıştığı bir ürün varsa, bu ürün, bu masadan indiğinde, artık müşteriye götürülüp, monte edilmeye hazır, anlamına geliyor. Masanın etrafında, gördüğünüz ürünler de tam olarak böyle ve müşteriye götürülüp, monte edilmek için sıralarını bekliyorlar.

Yukarıdaki fotoğraflarda görmüş olduğunuz kısım ise atölyenin iç tarafı. Burası da çok geniş bir alan. Buraya geçmek için giriş odasında bulunan kapıdan geçmeniz gerekiyor. Buraya, personel Harici girmek yasak. Çünkü delici ve kesici aletler, makineler var. Fotoğraflardaki, zemini yeşil olan masa, tabak denilen, büyük tahtaların(Mdf, Suntalam, Kontraplak) küçük parçalara ayrılması için kullanılan bir makine. Çalışırken çok ses ve toz çıkarıyor. Turuncu olan makine ise, tahtaların kenarlarındaki kesik izlerinin kaybolmasını sağlamak için oraya tahtayla aynı renkte ince bir yüzeyi yapıştırmak için kullanılıyor. Ben küçükken, bunu üyü ile yapıyorlardı. 😂

Bu köşe de abimin, ölçüsünü aldığı ürünlerin çizimini yaptığı ve dinlenmek, misafirlerini ağırlamak için kullandığı alan. Artık ürünlerin monte edilmesi ve son hallerini göreceğimiz aşamaya geçebilirim.

Yukarıdaki fotoğrafta kasasını gördüğümüz araç, abimin pikabı. Burada, monte etmek için eve(3. Kat) çıkardığımız ürünlerin küçük bir bölümü var. Ben ve babamın işe yaradığımız kısım tam olarak bu. 😂 Diğer fotoğrafta ise bir takım şansını var. Takım sandığının üst kapakları normalde plastik olur. Muhtemelen, o plastik kapaklar kırılmış, abim de artan tahtalardan, bir kapak yapmış. 😂

Burada bir takım, monte işleri yapılıyor. Burası bir evin, çocuk odası. Evde yaşayan 4 tane küçük çocuk olduğu için, bu odaya iki tane ikili ranza yapılıyor. Abim bütün parçaların nereye, nasıl yerleştirileceğini, nerelerinin yapıştırılıp, nerelerinin vidalanacağını biliyor. Babamla bana, nerden tutmamız gerektiğini, neyi getirmemiz gerektiğini söylüyor. Biz, bilinçsizce söylenenleri yapıyoruz. Ben ilk gittiğimizde, tam olarak buraya ne yapılacağını bile bilmiyordum. 😂

Yukarıda gördüğünüz çalışmalar ise aslında abimle ve mesleğiyle alakalı olmayan işler. Birisinde, Ramazan’ın üst katına yerleştirdiği Demir korkuluğu, Demir kesme makinesiyle törpülüyor, diğerinde ise, ranzanın kapattığı prizi, duvardan ranzanın iç kısmına taşıyor. Bu işler bir kaç dakika süren basit işler. Fakat, abim de benim gibi bunlardan anlamıyor olsaydı, iki farklı dalda usta daha gelmesi gerekirdi; elektrikçi ve demirci.

İşte ranzaların son hali. Her şey yerli yerine oturdu. Geriye sadece temizlik kısmı kaldı. Temizlik işi ev sahibine ait. Bu monte işi, ürünlerin taşınmasıyla birlikte, yaklaşık 2 saat sürdü. Gerçekten zor bir iş. Çok fazla ayrıntısı var. Küçükken de abime bu şekilde yardıma gitmiştim. Fakat uzun bir aradan sonra bunu tekrar deneyimlemek güzeldi. Kendinize iyi davranın dostlarım…
