Talk on Corners: The Corrs' Breakthrough

The Corrs may have sold well with their debut album "Forgiven, Not Forgotten" but the success of "Talk On Corners", their second album contributed to it. The group's second album actually became the number 1 album of 1998 in UK, and it produced some hit singles.

The Corrs may actually be considered as albums artist because their singles weren't so huge despite the huge sales of the parent album. It was led by the single "Only When I Sleep" which peaked at number 53 in UK Singles Chart. "I Never Loved You Anyway" was the second single, and there's an improvement in chart performance at number 43 in UK.

"What Can I Do" was the third single, and initially peaked at number 53. However, with the release of its remix, it became their first top 10 UK hit reaching 3. It also reached number 12 in Europe Hot 100.

The Corrs had covered the song from Fleetwood Mac, "Dreams". A remix version was also released, and it became their second consecutive top 10 in the UK after it peaked at number 6. The fifth single "So Young" also peaked at that position.

"Talk on Corners" had gone 9x platinum in United Kingdom, and is close to reaching its 10th. In Europe, it has sold more than 6 million copies.
