TLC achieved acclaim by critics, as well as gaining momentum through their second studio album "CrazySexyCool" which was a Diamond platinum awardee in the United States. It took years until they finally follow it up with their third album which was called "Fanmail", which the title was derived from their fans sending them mails with hopes for a new album. Creating the album has been tough for them due to professional conflicts among the members, producers, etc.

Finally, it was released and it featured the song "No Scrubs" as the lead single which was already a hit even with the absence of a music video. It finally had its music video released, and it was well-received. The single became a global hit, reaching number 1 both in Billboard Hot 100 and US Mainstream chart, and it had gone 5x platinum. It's also a hit in UK where it had peaked at number 3, and was certified 4x platinum. It was also a hit in continental Europe where it had gone to number 2.
