PUBLIC REACTIONS TO THE SUPER EAGLES SHOCKING EXIT FROM THE AFCON
Hey guys, welcome back to my blog today I'll be talking about the Nigerian super eagles and their shocking exit from the prestigious AFRICAN CUP OF NATIONS tournament on the 23rd of January,2021 in their game against Tunisia
We all didn't expect them to lose in such a way because of their indomitable session in the group stage they looked totally unbeatable and also favourites to win the cup ,they didn't lose any of their group stage match and even defeated Egypt who had a star player (Mohammed Salah),so they losing in such a way was unexpected especially on a day when they needed a win.
A lot of Nigerians were disgruntled and had alot of opinions or should I say reasons why they failed to qualify for the quarter final even though the match has ended and believe me the number one reason is so funny 🤣
REASONS GIVEN BY NIGERIANS
1.PRESIDENT BUHARI CONFERENCE CALL: yes! You read it right, before the game HIS EXCELLENCY had a conference call with the players and the coach wishing them good luck on their upcoming match, a lot of Nigerians believed the call caused their downfall as the president isn't seen as a good omen, another man said since the beginning of the tournament he didn't call and they won but the day his call came through the lost and where eliminated 🤣.... Please what's your take on this TRUE or FALSE.
2.SUPER SUB IWOBI AND HIS RED CARD: A fan said bringing IWOBI in the game was the worst decision on the game when we had other subs like veteran Musa and the rest but the coach choose to bring in IWOBI who hasn't had a great season in the nationals,he also added that it's all politics in a sense that legendary OKOCHA is related to Alex IWOBI so he is given preferential treatment unlike the rest ...TRUE or FALSE.
3.NO TEAM SPIRIT: This is something i noticed personally after the goal by Tunisia the super eagles of Nigeria lost the will to fight and began to lose ball possession it was so obvious that the team was down and this increased Tunisia's vigor and they dominated the game until the red card I mentioned above after then the had a couple of chances but luck wasn't on their side.
4.BAD OFFICIATING FROM THE REFREE: many believed the red card given wasn't worth it and the REFREE was biased in his officiating, also on numerous occasions the REFREE was found wanting in his duty.

We all know the super eagles had more chances of winning the afcon after their group stage performance but unfortunately they lost, their only consolation might come from the world cup match they have against the republic of Ghana if they win.... Wishing them the best of luck
