Understanding regulations and integrity is an important aspect for general election organizers, including for the Election Supervisory Committee (Panwaslih) and all of its staff. These two aspects are an important part of the successful oversight of the 2024 elections.

The supervisory committee, starting from the top level up to the polling stations (TPS), must be able to understand the regulations in accordance with their respective main tasks and functions.

"The integrity of the organizers is at stake for public trust in the holding of elections," said Dr. Ibrahim Qamarius in the "Capacity Building and Consolidation of Supervisors for the 2024 Simultaneous General Election" event held by North Aceh District Supervisory Committee, at the House Cafe, Gunung Salak, Gampong Alue Dua, Nisam Antara District, North Aceh District, Thursday (11/5/2023.

The lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business at Malikussaleh University reminded the importance of integrity for election supervisors. He also reminded the risks that supervisors will face when they ignore integrity. "Many election administrators have received sanctions from the DKPP (Election Organizer Honorary Council)," said Ibrahim Qamarius.

Apart from Ibrahim Qamarius, the organizing committee also presented Aceh Province Panwaslih Commissioners, Yusriadi, SE, MSM, and Safwani, SH, MH as resource persons. Both are former members of the North Aceh Panwaslih who were elected as members of the Aceh Provincial Panwaslih.

Yusriadi appeared with the material "Supervision of the Nomination Stages for Members of the DPR, DPRA, and DPRK". Meanwhile, Safwani delivered material on "Potential Violations in the Nomination Stages for DPR, DPRA and DPRK Members".

The event was opened by the Chair of the North Aceh Regency Panwaslih, Teuku Yuherli, and was attended by the commissioners of the North Aceh Regency Panwaslih, North Aceh Regency Panwaslih secretariat staff, and 81 members of the District Oversight Committee (Panwascam) for all sub-districts in North Aceh Regency. Pesan Akademisi Bagi Peningkatan Kapasitas Pengawas Pemilu Aceh Utara

Pemahaman akan regulasi dan integritas menjadi aspek penting bagi penyelenggara pemilihan umum, termasuk bagi Panitia Pengawas Pemilihan (Panwaslih) dan seluruh jajarannya. Kedua aspek tersebut menjadi bagian penting untuk menyukseskan pengawasan Pemilu 2024.

Panitia pengawas mulai dari tingkat atas sampai di Tempat Pemungutan Suara (TPS), harus mampu memahami regulasi sesuai dengan tugas pokok dan fungsi masing-masing.

“Integritas penyelenggara menjadi pertaruhan kepercayaan publik terhadap penyelenggaraan pemilu,” ujar Dr Ibrahim Qamarius dalam acara "Peningkatan Kapasitas dan Konsolidasi Pengawas Pemilihan Umum Serentak 2024" yang dilaksanakan Panwaslih Kabupaten Aceh Utara, di House Cafe, Gunung Salak, Gampong Alue Dua, Kecamatan Nisam Antara, Kabupaten Aceh Utara, Kamis (11/5/2023.

Dosen Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Malikussaleh tersebut mengingatkan pentingnya integritas bagi pengawas pemilu. Dia juga mengingatkan risiko yang akan dihadapi pengawas ketika mengabaikan integritas. “Sudah banyak penyelenggara pemilu yang mendapatkan sanksi dari DKPP (Dewan Kehormatan Penyelenggara Pemilu),” ujar Ibrahim Qamarius.

Selain Ibrahim Qamarius, panitia pelaksana juga menghadirkan Komisioner Panwaslih Provinsi Aceh, Yusriadi, MSM dan Safwani, MH sebagai narasumber. Keduanya adalah mantan anggota Panwaslih Aceh Utara yang terpilih menjadi anggota Panwaslih Provinsi Aceh.

Yusriadi tampil dengan materi "Pengawasan Tahapan Pencalonan Anggota DPR, DPRA, dan DPRK". Sedangkan Safwani menyampaikan materi "Potensi Pelanggaran Tahapan Pencalonan Anggota DPR, DPRA dan DPRK".

Acara yang dibuka oleh Ketua Panwaslih Kabupaten Aceh Utara, Teuku Yuherli, dan dihadiri oleh komisioner Panwaslih Kabupaten Aceh Utara, staf sektariat Panwaslih Kabupaten Aceh Utara dan 81 orang anggota Panitia Pengawas Kecamatan (Panwascam) seluruh kecamatan di Kabupaten Aceh Utara.[ayi]
