Joko Pinurbo is a famous poet in Indonesia. Many people like his poetry, quote his romantic poems for their loved ones.

Today, Saturday 27 April 2024, Joko Pinurbo, who is familiarly called Jokpin, is gone forever after suffering from a long illness. News of his death filled social media homepages.

I met Jokpin when I received an invitation to the Jogyakarta International Literary Festival. They only had time to exchange pleasantries for a moment before taking photos together, including with the hat-wearing poet, Emi Suy.

Goodbye, Mas Jokpin. The body goes, the words and meaning are eternal.[]
