Wish Date Concert "Twilight" at SMX Bacolod
I'm not really an avid concert-goer, but just to some free public concerts wherein the city paid the famous artists. In any case, I'll just keep my money and buy coffee or whatever I want. This time, the concert wasn't free but I happen to have a sponsor. I was given a gold seat ticket in a concert. The ticket was worth Php 4,500 or $80.70, but then two of it was just given to us for free.
It wasn't that known in the city, so I thought it was just a small production but I was wrong. It was the Wish Date Concert, with a short film and live performances by different professional singers. It was about a short Twilight starring Ayra Mariano, Teejay Marquez, and Mary Joy Apostol, portraying love and friendship.
Here we are after our school duties. We went to SM City Mall, and ate our dinner first since the concert was a bit late to start. They have scheduled it to start at 7 pm but already started at 8pm. The infamous Filipino Time, yes!
We met our friend who gave us yhe ticket at the entrance. She was working there, maybe that was why she has lots of extra tickets. Well, we're very grateful for that.
The staff there were so accomodating. The venue was already loaded when we got inside and we don't know where to sit exactly. One of the staff approached us and guide us to our seats, even the other audiences there have pointed us where the vacant seats are.
For a while, the stage was quiet and dark. Then, it was lit up as the set of dancers came out and perform. One by one, the two ladies with the beautiful voices appeared to sang in front of the audiences and dancing also to the rythm of their songs that the crowd couldn't help but to applaud their performances.
Every performances was spectular, as each of them sang after every clip of the short film was played on the big screen. The ones who sang were Hakki, Kimberly Baluzo, Sam Mangubat, Nina, and Raymond Lauchengco. We haven't made it until the end of the concert because it was already late. It was 10 pm but the concert was still just half-way there.
We didn't get to see Nina in person and heard her sing, but at least we had witnessed how Raymond Lauchengco sang up close and made our Aunties giggled like they were still in their teens or twenties. Some were really shouting in excitement as they saw him appeared on stage. Well, I admit, a veteran's voice is really something. You distinguish their edge and gap from a rookie, aldo how they handle the audience to get them excited on every lyrics they sang.
As much as we wanted to finish the concert and know the ending of the short film, we couldn't catch a ride home if we got out by 11pm. I'm even curious up until now of how it went for them, and who did the guy ends up with. I have been looking it up on YouTube but all I could see was the teasers of the short film. The music production house hasn't uploaded the whole concert flow, either. I'll be waiting for the meantime for it to be released, but kind of experience was surely a once in a lifetime, because I know I wouldn't be spending that much on stuff like that even in the future.
I'm really grateful for my friend who gave us the tickets, not the ordinary ones but the gold seats. Just how lucky we are!

Nina hu?

You are lucky it was for free. Ingatz. God bless.
Yes po, pero mahal yun kapag binili. Na swertehan lang talaga kami.
So lucky of you with the free ticket 🥹🥹 They were in davao last may 19 too and I was at the mall that time, I was planning to go for handsome teejay but saw the expensive ticket I backed out! Hahaha
Yeah. The gold ticket was worth 4,500. I wouldn't risk my budget, either but we're just lucky to have a generous friend. Pogiiii ni Teejay. 😍
