Being an introvert got me Doomed - Misunderstanding | LOH CONTEST #157
I go through life most of the time feeling misunderstood. This is too much frustrating moreover, when it feels like people are judging me at every turn just because of a tiny misunderstanding. I truly have been struggling and it could be that maybe my habits are pushing away everyone from my side.
There is nothing to be self-conscious about this matter anyways, it's a good way observe and find out how others spectated me. I know that It's important to know how my intentions mean very little when it comes to social interactions. Communication includes not only voice but also body language gestures, actions, expressions. I don’t think that I am doing things that would always get me into negative reactions. It’s just the people around me they look at things critically.
Some people think that I am arrogant because I am always being quite. When there is a group, I don’t talk much. When someone is sharing their stories I do listen to them carefully paying attention. When there is a crowd I get nervous because I am introvert and when I see many people around me it’s uncomfortable. I do avoid going out with everyone but prefer to go with few friends of mine.
I am not that kind of person who is available for 24hrs online to chat, because I would not like to text someone all day long to know about what they are doing currently and it’s none of my business. I find it silly to ask someone about it. Like it’s difficult for me to have a conversation with someone because I don’t know what to say it’s okay for once to ask someone what they are doing but what’s after that and I also don’t understand why I have to try to have a conversation with someone. If it’s gonna happen then it will happen by the time and flow.
So, some people think I don’t text much because I am egoistic or something but it’s nothing like that actually It’s just that I feel like staying quite is the wise decision instead of blabbering without any reason. But if anyone wants my help which is in my knowledge then I would try my best or any other work. But if someone wants to share something with me I can be a good listener. Just because I speak less does not mean I don’t care. People do misunderstand my silence because I can’t continue on talking all day
Well, another thing I would like to add that I am not good at making eye contact while talking because I feel shy so, I prefer to look down or sometimes in the eyes but not the whole time. But sometimes people don’t feel seen when I do that they would be like why don’t you look at me am I ugly or something. But I have told them before I am an introvert yet they misunderstood.
Another thing is that when someone got any wrong information about me if I try to correct them and give them a simple explanation then they would just say that I am getting hyper/mad at them which is not true! Because I am only trying to explain and show my points with validation. Yeah, I don’t talk much but if someone is bearing a wrong thought about me then I am ready to explain.

Interesting to know about. Now-a-days too many people open up anything in public that's why the value of introvert isnot seen by them.
That's very true I missed this point. Actually it's the reality of todays generation being shameless. So, they expect everyone to be like them and if someone won't do the same then that person is weird, rude, arrogant many names are given.

One thing I've always come to make peace with myself regardless of whatever the society does is that I will always do what I am happy doing.
I won't succumb to the societal influence just because of the pressure

To be honest it's hard to keep up with the judge mentality. Like just because they are doing it different way they would ask me to do the same. I don't wanna be extrovert I know where to talk and how to take my stand. But some people can't see others being different.

Being introverted is not bad and I understand the thoughts behind the fact because I am also being to that category. But sometimes depending on the situation sometimes we need to be extrovert also and having the capability is very important otherwise being introvert is a weakness.
I feel being an introvert should be a choice, not a weakness. I hope you got my point.
In case of what others think introvert people think too much but it's time to grow up. You can't think about everyone and you can't make everyone satisfied. So correcting other's information about you is not necessary unless they are your close ones.
At last, the choice is yours and you know better what is best for you.

I only explain to the one I feel like they need to know because I don't have the time to explain the situation to everyone. Also, I know when to take stand and how. I don’t not hold back when it’s needed.

Being quiet and alone isn't being arrogant...we introvert just really want solitude..who cares about it?

Maybe they are jealous of us because we have the ability to stay quite and they don’t😂.
I can relate much to this. I don't talk too much as I'm introvert person too but when I'm with the people who I'm comfortable with, I can talk and laugh a lot.

I totally understand this feeling, people sometimes feel I snub them when I don't join in their conversations, the truth is I don't talk much in public even my family members know I always love my space not because I don't cherish them, but that's how I cope and we sure have listening ears as introvert and very observant
