Process in pictures - Proceso en imágenes

I love to relate things that happen in everyday life with nature and this time I imagined the mind that does not stop thinking either to find solutions or when one gives many turns to a particular topic, thinking about several variables. I related this to a volcano erupting, it could be that the volcano gives off only ashes or that it forms rivers of lava, thoughts, ideas or perhaps that the mind is saturated.

But I also wanted to reflect the calm behind the subject, symbolised in the green, in the landscape of nature. Depending on what comes out of the mind and the volcano, new and good things can be created, so that the mental saturation will pass and even much better things will come.

Many of us go through that, and art is like a way of expressing what happens to us in life.

Design process

The design is made with eight images and fourteen layers in Photoshop CS6, without using AI.

For the background of the design I used a fog image on which I placed a mountain image between clouds, which I arranged in two layers with fusions of lighter and darker colours that I would later animate in the video.

On top of this I placed the first volcano with the fusion of focal light to then work the image of the woman in several layers, where I previously erased the background, part of the hair and fixed one of the eyes as they looked different. For this I selected the best one, copied and pasted, flipped it horizontally, erased contours and fixed the light and contrast. The result was good. Then I worked on the different layers of the woman and in many of them I erased almost all the hair. The fusions I used are: focal light, strong light, darker colour and lighter colour.

Later I worked another of the volcano images, in this case, I only left the smoke or ashes on the woman's face. On top of this I used the third volcano image in two layers, erasing almost all the background and in two layers with lighter and darker colour fusions. Between them I placed the lava image of the fourth volcano, only leaving the lava underneath and with strong light blending.

Finally I placed over the whole design, erasing the central zone, the image of the river with the nature in two layers with darker colour fusions and superimpose.

The animation is done completely in After Effects, working on the opacity of each layer and adding lights in the form of clouds for better contrast.

Me encanta relacionar las cosas que pasan en la vida cotidiana con la naturaleza y esta vez imaginé la mente que no para de pensar ya sea para buscar soluciones o cuando uno le da muchas vueltas a un tema determinado, pensando en diversas variables. A esto lo relacioné con un volcán haciendo erupción, puede ser que el volcán despida sólo cenizas o bien que forme ríos de lava, pensamientos, ideas o tal vez que la mente se sature.

Pero también quería reflejar la calma detrás del asunto, simbolizado en el verde, en el paisaje de naturaleza. Depende lo que surja de la mente y el volcán, puede crearse cosas nuevas y buenas, por lo que esa saturación mental pasará y hasta venga acontecimientos mucho mejores.

Muchos pasamos por eso, y el arte es como una forma de expresar lo que nos ocurre en la vida.

Proceso del diseño

El diseño está realizado con ocho imágenes y en catorce capas dentro del programa Photoshop CS6, sin usar IA.

Para el fondo del diseño usé una imagen de niebla sobre la cual coloqué una imagen de montaña entre nubes, la cual dispuse en dos capas con fusiones de color más claro y color más oscuro que luego les daría animación en el video.

Sobre lo anterior puse el primer volcán con la fusión de luz focal para luego trabajar la imagen de la mujer en varias capas, donde previamente borré el fondo, parte del cabello y arreglé uno de los ojos ya que se veían distintos. Para esto seleccioné el mejor, copié y pegué, volteándolo horizontalmente, borré contornos y arreglé la luz y el contraste. El resultado fue bueno. Luego trabajé las distintas capas de la mujer y en muchas borré casi todo el cabello. las fusiones que usé son: luz focal, luz fuerte, color más oscuro y color más claro.

Posteriormente trabajé otra de las imágenes de volcán, en este caso, sólo dejé el humo o cenizas sobre el rostro de la mujer. Sobre esto usé la tercera imagen de volcán en dos capas, borrando casi todo el fondo y en dos capas con fusiones color más claro y oscurecer. Entre ellas coloqué la imagen la lava del cuarto volcán, sólo dejando la lava de abajo y con fusión de luz fuerte.

Finalmente puse sobre todo el diseño borrando la zona central, la imagen del río con la naturaleza en dos capas con fusiones color más oscuro y superponer.

La animación está realizada completamente en After Effects, trabajando la opacidad de cada capa y agregando luces en forma de nubes para un mejor contraste.
