The Privileges and Benefits of Having Access to Financial Resources

Money makes the world go round. Truer words haven't been said. Most of us sit at home dreaming of what we will do once we finally have that stacked bank account. I have been guilty of this as much as the next person. So what exactly do we dream of? Certainly different things for everyone, but there are some through lines that we can observe.

Let's do just that.

Stability

The fact that we will never have to worry about what's next is a huge weight off our shoulders. A roof over our heads with a warm bed and a tasty meal is something worth dreaming of. Not just for us, but for everyone we love and care for. Everyone that's important to us taken care of. The dream.

I have heard that the stress of managing your bills is equal to that of two tons of stone squishing your head. Don't quote me on that. But having all your bills paid sure sounds like a luxury. Not having to think ever of what, when, or how to pay sounds like paradise.

The lack of stress in general is the biggest thing. Monetary freedom allows us to focus on our lives more. No more stress of paying the doctor's bills or worrying about your landlord. All those trivial stresses are behind us now. We get to create, we get to travel. We get to live. The dream.

Luxury

I can't wait for the day when I won't have to nickel and dime anymore. Where I can live my life as I want it. At the pace I want it. If I want to eat sushi tonight then I'm going to that expensive sushi place in the city center. Once there, I won't bother checking the prices on the menu. Gonna order me a nice tall glass of white with my food, because why not?

No more window shopping. It's time for actual shopping! If I see something I like - I buy it. Ah, what a concept. No more haggling with store clerks over prices or trying to get the cheaper variant of clothing. No more financial compromises, or feeling guilty for treating one's self. The dream.

We spoke of travel earlier. Now that's a luxury. Going to see the great wall of China or the ancient pyramids. Visiting the old temples in India and Japan. Or the many stops in Europe for that matter. Whatever the fancy takes you be at your fingertips. The best thing about it? Getting to stay in the accommodations that suit you. Getting to visit the places you want to see - all of them.

Extreme sports, diving the coral riff, swimming in the Nile. Whatever you wanna do, whenever you want to do it. It's hard to believe that our tendencies can be rewired in such a way. We are so used to being poor and dealing. Never giving. The life I talk about here would be most giving.

Would be the dream.

Love

Everyone you hold dear = taken care of. I cannot think of a more beautiful thing. Everyone can focus on actually living the life they want. Not bothering with the minutia of ordinary life, and the pitfalls that that entails. Those sheltered folk that you adore are finally able to reach their potential. And thrive.

Not to mention the respect you would get when going places. No one looking down on you or belittling you. Not having to be the bigger person all the time. Money is power. And with great power - I'll stop.

I said this last because truly that's the least important privilege of them all. Worrying about what other people think is a problem for people that aren't happy with their life. This last point can be solved without money, as it should. For once we get what we want our previous tendencies will only be amplified. We need to become the person we want to be before we get rich, then once we do get rich, enjoy life without having to find ourselves. The dream.
