On Co-existence And Making Room For Differences.

I exist from a place of abundance. I am open to everything I have to offer. I live my life with boldness and I don’t hold back on expressing myself. I’ll say the words you don’t think I should be saying and feel things you don’t agree with, your sentiments and judgement is not my reality. I exist from the edge of a cliff, playing it safe is not my specialty.

You see my friend, we’re so different, we’re all uniquely different such that differences should be the core of our faith, of our primary conception of life. Instead we spend so much time trying to control other people’s actions and telling them how to live, what to say, how to love, who to fuck; all the way down to the end of the ducking list. Yeah, ducking list because even my phone tries to tell me how to ducking type. 🤦🏾‍♀️

I’m so sick of it. It goes right back to each of us, to the beginning. The decision to dominate and control a whole race of people wasn’t thought in a day. It started from little thoughts and little beliefs, to planting seeds of such thoughts and finding like minds to bond with. It stems from the natural instincts to control. All instincts are natural, all vices are okay, but you don’t necessarily have to become and project such negativity.

The decision to control another’s faith and believes stems from the natural instincts of a sense of moral superiority. It gets really dark because now they attack you at the very essence of your being, the one part that controls so many others. In deciding others didn’t know how to be themselves, they disregarded and disrespected their ways of doing things and started to brainwash them and fill them up with their own opinions and mode of existence. It wasn’t right, but now what you have is a bunch of people who hate themselves and are constantly running from themselves, trying to become something they’re not.

We’re more different than same, our individualism and thoughts patterns are so different, but we fail to realize there’s room for everyone to be. You may not agree with me but that shouldn’t make you think you’re better. You may not understand me but that shouldn’t make you hate me. I’m not here to erase your existence so don’t do that to mine.
Why didn’t the first people lead with this thought? Why did they tilt towards their ego and failed to see the next person.

Most importantly, why are we refusing to be better? We all have the power to change our thoughts and orientations. It shouldn’t be difficult for everyone to exist in their individuality, we shouldn’t ever be the reason someone finds it difficult to be themselves.
I always think about this Igbo adage: Bīrí ka m bīrí - Live and let me live. Live your life, do your thing but always know you’re not the blueprint.

Unfortunately everything has already gone to shit, and we’re way past the era of singing kumbaya and blowing kisses at each other. The world is already messed up but there’s always a starting point to redemption and it always from the person in the mirror. Tunchi(Lil Wayne), Michael Jackson, Keke Palmer and the motivational speaks weren’t playing around when they said change starts from the man in the mirror. How do you see yourself? How do you love yourself? Because we are the hate we give and the love we share. You’ll always project who you are so goodness always starts from you.

See, I’ll always be myself, I’ll always express myself and live my life as long as I remember that it is another person at the end of my words, actions and experiences. I’ll always be myself because I don’t aim to hurt, and with this comes kindness and accountability in the face of mistakes. Love will always be my beginning.

I write what I feel. And that’s mostly me pretending to know what I’m doing. I am a recovering hypocrite. Some days I’m all sunshine and sweetness, and on some days you’ll look at me and question your own sanity.
But hey, you’ll get great vibes though. I’m saying it could ruin us but I’m worth it. I’m also famous for surprising myself. Either way, I’m necessary for character development. I do my best to be a good person but, we should all start from trying to meet each other halfway.
