Christophe De Beukelaerhas to be the first European politician to earn in BTC

Who says crypto isn’t the future again? I can I see you? Now politicians are now demanding that their salary should be paid in Bitcoin (BTC). That’s a next level stuff. Well a member of the Belgian parliament Christophe De Beukelaerhas asked that his salary should now be converted and paid in Bitcoin.

The politician’s monthly salary is approximately £4,578, and he said he doesn’t want the entire 2022 to be paid in cash or fiat but in Bitcoin and it’s said to be converted with Bit4You which is a crypto exchange platform and this will make him the first politician to be paid or earning in BTC.

Following the decisions he made, he said he was inspired by the New York’s mayor Eric Adams who disclosed that he would like to take his first three cheques that will be paid to him in Bitcoin. So the statement has motivated him (Christophe De Beukelaerhas) to also do the same.

He also went ahead in thanking Eric Adams the mayor for the inspiration and said he also wished that Brussels will become like New York a hub of crypto and also the city that would Europe in crypto, web3 and blockchain.

The best part about Eric Adams announcing to take his cheques in BTC is that he’s not the only mayor to do so, that is, accepting their pay in BTC. We also have a mayor in the US, Miami to be precise Francis Suarez and also the President of EL Salvador also announce that the nation will now be accepting BTC as a legal fee. And this announcement was made in September 2021.
