Pokémon Air Adventures event recap

The Pokémon Air Adventures event has ended at the end of the weekend. Mega Latias and Mega Latios did remain in Raids until Tuesday morning.

In this event there was a Timed Research "Electrify the Sky" which granted some Latias and Latios Mega Energy and an encounter with a Flying Pikachu. Here you can see the stats for mine.

From recently saving up my Coins from defending Gyms, I had enough to buy a box with 18 Premium Raid Passes. So I've been trying to use my 2 free Raid Passes every day and also some of the Premium ones to do Mega Latias and Mega Latios Raids. These were some difficult Raids 😅 A few of them were really close in time to defeat them, but luckily always managed them.

I was disappointed with the Premier Balls that we got from defeating them. Sure, time is a factor for the amount of Premier Balls, but euhm these Mega Raids had a 6-star difficult compared to the usual 5-star for Legendary and Mythical Raids. Yet I kept getting less Premier Balls than from a 5-star Raid. It feels like they didn't increase the base amount.

A few Latias and Latios ran away unfortunately, luckily none that were really high stats based on their CP.

I've also played some PvP and got a few encounters that way. Not many though, and over the weekend and the last day in like 10-13 encounters I didn't get a single one.

In total I was able to catch 15 Latias, here are some of them sorted by highest CP. I managed to get 2 Shiny Latias! Quite terrible stats unfortunately xD

When it comes to Latios, I was able to catch 21. I also did a few more Raids I think based on the Mega Energy difference. On the last day I was able to get my first and only Shiny Latios. For Latios I did manage to get better stats!

Unfortunately the Shiny Latios doesn't have its signature move, Luster Purge. While the Mega's stayed in Raids until Tuesday morning, they apparently only had their signature move until the Pokémon Air Adventures event ended. So that's a bit of a bummer. I'm not really sure if the moves are great anyway, but would've been fun to have them. One data site mentions that Psychic is better, though I'm not completely certain.

Perhaps I could see if sometime in a Lucky Trade someone would like to trade a Shiny with the signature move.

I didn't Mega Evolve Latias nor Latios yet, not too sure which moveset I would aim for on them. And no idea stats wise xD Perhaps I should just Mega Evolve the Shinies as I lack 100% IVs for them anyway. I have enough Mega Energy to evolve them several times anyway, so I'd definitely still have enough if I manage to get a 100% from a trade sometime.

No wild Shiny encounters during this event, only the Latias and Latios that I've shown here.
