The HBD-Bitcoin pool adds liquidity to the Altera bridge, so liquidity providers take on price-imbalance risk between HBD and BTC (source of yield and potential loss if BTC moves sharply).
This creates a direct, real-BTC to HBD connection, reducing exchange dependency and bringing external capital/utility to Hive.
