Diccionario venezolano | Venezuelan dictionary [ESP-ENG]

Feliiz domingo gente!! Vi esta idea de hacer un diccionario con palabras de nuestro país en el Blogging Challenge y la verdad me gustó y me parece divertido jajja. Soy de Venezuela y en lo personal considero que tenemos muchas palabras, formas de expresión bastante particulares así que me animé a hacer esto para quienes me leen de otros países puedan entender el significado de ciertas palabras que quizás han escuchado o ni tenían idea de que existían jajaja. Comencemos!!

Happy Sunday people! I saw this idea of making a dictionary with words from our country in the Blogging Challenge and I really liked it and I think it's fun hahaha. I am from Venezuela and I personally consider that we have many words, forms of expression quite particular so I decided to do this for those who read me from other countries can understand the meaning of certain words that perhaps they have heard or had no idea they existed hahaha. Let's start!

Bululú: se dice así cuando hay mucha gente o cosas juntas en un sitio y hay mucho alboroto o bulla, piensen en una hora pico en el metro de una ciudad, bueno, a veces se utiliza mucho esta expresión para contar eso "había un bululú de gente en ese metro..." jajaja.

Bululu: is said when there are many people or things together in one place and there is a lot of commotion or noise, think of a rush hour in the subway of a city, well, sometimes this expression is used a lot to tell that "there was a bululu of people in that subway..." hahaha.

Burda: mucho, cantidades de algo. Es una expresión para decir que algo está muy bueno, muy caro, etc.

Burda: a lot, quantities of something. It is an expression to say that something is very good, very expensive, etc.

Catire/a: se le llama así a las personas rubias. También muchas personas le dicen de esa forma al sol jaja "el catire está muy fuerte hoy"

Catire/a: blonde people are called that way. Also many people say that way to the sun haha "el catire está muy fuerte hoy".

Chama/o: bastante utilizada esta palabra, se le dice así a los niños, adolescentes, personas jóvenes; a tus amigos o simplemente para llamar o mencionar a una persona que no conozcas.

Chama/o: quite used this word, it is said this way to children, teenagers, young people; to your friends or simply to call or mention a person you do not know.

Echarle pichón: esforzarse en algo, darlo todo hasta lograrlo jaja.

Echarle pichón: to make an effort in something, to give everything until you achieve it haha.

Flojera: pereza, cuando una persona es floja es porque no quiere hacer algo por ocio o que no tiene ganas.

Laziness: laziness, when a person is lazy is because he does not want to do something for leisure or does not feel like it.

Gafedad: Tonterías, o que una persona diga cosas sin sentido que no vienen al caso.

Gafedad: Nonsense, or that a person says meaningless things that are beside the point.

Jurungar/curucutear: la segunda opción me hace mucha gracia, esta palabra significa hurgar, buscar en las cosas ajenas o propias con un fin determinado.

Jurungar/curucutear: the second option makes me laugh a lot, this word means to rummage, to search in things or others or own things with a specific purpose.

Lambucio: se refiere a una persona que se quiere comer todo y anda pendiente de la comida de los demás para pedir o agarrar. Así se le suele decir mucho a los perros cuando están velando la comida jajaj. A mi personalmente no me gusta tanto esta palabra, pero es característica en mi país.

Lambucio: refers to a person who wants to eat everything and is watching the food of others to ask or grab. That's how it is often said to dogs when they are watching the food hahahah. I personally don't like this word so much, but it is characteristic in my country.

Naguará: es una expresión que se utuliza para diversas cosas, ya sea para decir que me cansé mucho, es una expresión de asombro, para exclamar o hasta exagerar algo.

Naguará: is an expression that is used for different things, either to say that I got very tired, it is an expression of astonishment, to exclaim or even to exaggerate something.

Pana: amigo, persona de confianza. También se utiliza para referirse de una persona cuando sin conocerla se ve que es chévere, buena honda, que es "panita" jaja, por como se comporta y por lo que transmite uno puede decir que es de esa forma, buena, divertida, etc...

Pana: friend, trusted person. It is also used to refer to a person when without knowing him/her you can see that he/she is cool, good slinger, that he/she is "panita" haha, by how he/she behaves and by what he/she transmits one can say that he/she is that way, good, funny, etc....

Patae'mingo: significa que un lugar o persona está muy cerca de ti.

Patae'mingo: means that a place or person is very close to you.

Peroles: "agarra tus peroles" es una frase que se suele utilizar para referirse a que agarres tus cosas y te vayas jajaja, también como esta está la palabra "corotos" que se refiere a lo mismo y más que todo a lavar la losa o los utenlicios, ollas, etc. después de cocinar, ejem. "Lava los corotos"

Peroles: "agarra tus peroles" is a phrase that is often used to refer to grab your stuff and go hahaha, also like this is the word "corotos" which refers to the same and mostly to wash the slab or utenlicios, pots, etc. after cooking, example. "Lava los corotos"

Sifrina: se le dice así a una persona que puede ser de clase alta o no, presumida o que aparenta mucho. Uno puede identificar que una persona es así por la forma en que habla, por su tono de voz algo sobreactuado o por gestos de persona agrandada que haga, ya sea para llamar la atención o porque así es su personalidad. Cuando era pequeña escuchaba mucho esta palabra y se utiliza mucho en esa etapa de pubertad, y también creo que se popularizó mucho cuando Somos Tu y Yo (una serie de televisión) estaba en su auge jaja.

Sifrina: this is the name given to a person who may or may not be upper class, conceited or who appears to be a lot. One can identify that a person is like that by the way he speaks, by his tone of voice somewhat overacted or by gestures of an aggrandized person that he makes, either to attract attention or because that is his personality. When I was little I used to hear this word a lot and it is used a lot in that puberty stage, and I also think it became very popular when Somos Tu y Yo (a TV series) was at its peak haha.

Vaina: Vaina en realidad es el estuche donde se guarda una espada, pero en Venezuela esta palabra significa prácticamente todo jajaja, es una mala palabra, no una grosería en si, pero demasiado utilizada en el país. Ejemplos, "deja la vaina" (deja el fastidio) "esta vaina está muy buena" (esa comida o cosa está buena) entre muchos otros jajaja.

Vaina: Vaina actually is the case where a sword is kept, but in Venezuela this word means practically everything jajaja, it is a bad word, not a rude word in itself, but too much used in the country. Examples, "deja la vaina" (leave the vaina) "esta vaina está muy buena" (that food or thing is good) among many others hahaha.
