Sometimes, we don’t always feel comfortable admitting it to our close friends that "it is embarrassing" especially when things happen in the public. But, secretly, the idea of being famous has a great appeal. Fame is deeply attractive because it seems to offer much significant benefits. The fantasies of it goes like this: when you are famous, wherever you go your good reputation will speak for you. People will think and say well of you, because your worth have been impressively seen all over. You will get warm love and smiles from admiring strangers. Things will be in your favor at all times. Being famous will make you feel safe from rejection. Fame will make people to be flattered around you and delighted even if you are only slightly interested in them. This is how being famous looks like.

On my own taste of being famous, it was a wonderful experience I had in the small world then in my University days, it all happened in my first year as a Fresher, it was our Freshers Week and that day said to be Freshers Orientation Day. It was organized to officially welcome all new students to campus. We were all seated in the school big hall and I was sitting at the front roll as usual with my friends, so we could have a full view and not miss any of the events. After the orientation segment from the Vice Chancellor of the University, it was time for entertainment, different campus stars where ready at the back stage to perform their talents. They all came and did their thing and left the stage but there was one person left to perform, he was the most popular artist on campus, everyone knows him including the VC and of course apart from the Freshers. He was so good. And he was the one that brought about my fame, although, not 1 minute, but it didn’t last long.

So it was time for him to perform his song and he made a open request for "Any beautiful girl" to come to the stage as his Vixen, there was much murmuring in the hall for who to go or not, my friends where pushing and forcing me to go and it became so much embarrassing because I was a very shy person (not shy anymore as then LOL) and we were at the front seat so everyone who was paying attention to us knew what was happening. So I just summoned confidence and climbed the podium, I could feel my legs shivering, I couldn’t give a single stare to the crowd and then he began to sing to me, the whole crowd starts to cheer and hail me, and I got back my confidence in full, I cat-walked around, blushing, smiling and flaunting myself as a supposed Vixen. Then the show ended. That was when it all began, I got so many compliments from strangers, got offer from my school Modeling Agency, almost every where I went on campus there must be someone that would ask "Are you not that girl that was on stage...“ and then rain beautiful comments on me. It was an amazing experience. I became more popular and known for my quietness and made me really study hard so I could be tagged not just beautiful but with brain too, because most people expected that the whole thing would intoxicate me, but got the reverse case. And that was how it began to fade gradually but I was still well known.

You might wants to be famous out of a desire for kindness. But do you know the world isn’t generally kind to the famous for very long? And it’s just a matter of your personality and definitely not everyone would be happy for you, it happens in my own case but it was irrelevant and decided not to talk about it and focus on the main thing. Fame makes you more, not less, vulnerable, because it throws you open to judgement. Everyone would want to access you and the assessments will come from legions of people who would never dare to talk to you before and we know from our personal lives that a nasty remark can take a day or two to process and I will tell you, the only way to stay sane is to stop listening to those negative words.

Thank you for reading, See you in my next post

Have a great week ahead and Happy Valentine’s Day 🤗
