Does Decision Making Comes Easy?

There comes a state in a mans life where he gets to decide or take a stand on what he really wants in life and that decision he concluded on taking could either make him or break him for life.

Have you ever been in a position where you have to choose between two most important things in your life, but you have only the opportunity to pick one. Ok, let me put it this way. For instance, you’re at the middle of the sea with your entire Family, (Did I go too far LOL, I think this is the only way I can explain it deep) and you’re given the chance to pick just one person to cross the sea with you for survival. Now you’re left with the choice to pick anyone. Who would you pick? This is a tough one yeah? LOL because everyone seems important, well that’s a question for you to answer because only you knows who is less important than the other and that’s if there’s any.

With this illustration I have used, that difficult position you find yourself to decide, that feeling you get is when you realize that you’re done for. Being in this kind of situation is what am actually talking about.

Let me share this story with you. It’s about a girl, she was 22y/o, a fresh graduate from the university who just accomplished one part of her dreams. She had plans to take the next step to get a Master’s degree and she has been applying for different scholarship schemes abroad. She had a boyfriend who she has been dating since her University days, almost four years in the relationship and definitely he knows almost everything about her and he was aware of her plans for Masters.

So one day, she got a mail from a school she applied for that her application was successful and she got the scholarship too to study abroad. She couldn’t wait to break the news to her boyfriend, then she called him on the phone and finally did. He didn’t sound all excited as she expected like her dreams coming to reality, he wasn’t happy. Days went by without a word from him and finally he broke the silent, called her and invited her to come over that he has something important to tell her.

The next day, she went there curiously to hear what he has to say, and the next thing he said was for her to choose between him, I mean their "relationship" and the scholarship she just got, it’s either she go for one and lose the other. She was dumbfounded with the utterances from of his mouth. She never expected that from him, they have been dating for a long time and definitely he ought to have known that the opportunity she just got was her "dreams coming true" and playing that card on her was wrong to her. Am not here to judge, probably he is not the long distance type or he can’t do the long distance relationship thing and he couldn’t just tell her that he can’t do it. But that was it. She was left to make her decision and it wasn’t easy for her because the two seemed important to her.

This is the kind of situation am talking about. Sometimes the decision we take in Life can turn things around and drastically change ones life. Some people can change their plans in life because certain conditions they find themselves or people they meet and they just make a big U-turn forgetting that everyone has their own fate in destiny.

And about the girl, you might have been wondering what her decision was. Well, she went for the scholarship and left the love of her life. Although, it wasn’t an easy one and she wasn’t happy about it because that wasn’t the plan they both had for the future. But Life goes on!
