Petrol Pump Density Scam

In India, we sometimes see that there are several Petrol Pumps that offer us false readings of Petrol/Diesel where you may ask for 10 liters of Oil and you may get close to 9 Litres and most of the time you will never know about it as you are filling up your tank and have no way to check if you are getting the exact amount you have asked for or you are getting duped. But slowly but surely people have started to adapt t such dubious methods and come up with countermeasures to ensure the Common Public is not deceived anymore.

But we all know scammers constantly Update themselves quicker than the common public can adapt to them so they then started their updated version of scamming which was that they had preprogrammed certain numbers so that when a person fills up his/her tank say 1000 INR they get 900 INR worth petrol which means once again the common people gets scammed by the Petrol Pump Owners and even though this trick has become old and people have become smarter there is a brand new track in town that can wreak havoc on your Car/Bikes Mileage and that is the irregularity in Fuel Density.

As you can see above we get two indicators when we go to fill up our Petrol at a Pump, one is the price per litre of the Petrol and the other is the density of the Petrol. Truth be told even I was not aware of something like this and this came to my notice when my Car started to drop it's mileage like a log depending on where I am filling up my Petrol. After doing some due diligence I found out that they can alter the petrol density which inturn hugely effects the Mileage of a car and ultimately effects the engine as well. So yeah the next time you visit a petrol pump make sure that you check the Petrol Density which should be 730-770 kg/m3 for Petrol and for diesel, this number ranges from 820-860 kg/m3.

Wake Up Citizens, Don't Get Scammed.

It is very much better to check before buying and this would help to avoid being scammed.

That's crazy man... as times get tougher, people start cutting all sorts of corners to "make more". It's a sad reality...
