Hello fellow Hivians, it's #marketfriday challenge once more, hosted by a very special lady @dswigle.
I would like to share my visit to the countryside in Bothas Hill Kwa Zulu Natal South Africa, which is a small town not far from where I live where craft markets are held on a regular bases.
My dearest friend @lizelle and her hubby Arthur, took Peter and I on a special trip to a quaint little place called the Stone House which is a Garden Shop and Cafe, tucked away from the hustle and bustle and noise from the traffic in a tranquil country style setting for lunch.
It was such a treat to see them again after a good few months due to lock down and covid. I felt like I was let out of prison. Lol!! Even though the weather was still misbehaving a bit, the sun trying it's utmost to peep through the gloomy clouds, we had a wonderful time together.
I would like to take you with us on our visit to "The Stone House"

Before sitting down for lunch, we took a stroll around the different sections of the house where they have all sorts of gifts and books for sale.

The entrance to the shop has lovely little souvenirs and hand crafted cards for any occasion to purchase.

gifts 3.jpgWith Christmas coming up, one could really go to town with the beautiful hand made items in the exquisite Decor Shop.
The scent from a verity of fragranced soaps, lotions and sensual oils, is absolutely wonderful for the stress levels.

We walked through the outside garden shop where one could purchase garden ornaments, planters and Bonsai pots.

Beautiful ceramic hangers and bird feeders at a reasonable price, my next purchase will be the bird feeder, love lots of birds in my garden, they give me a sense of fulfillment.

The Restaurant over looks the awesome nursery where one could buy all sorts of different types of plants and flowers for the garden.

We found a table outside amongst the indigence plants and trees over looking the beautiful valley of a thousand hills.

The views are magnificent, I feel very privileged to be able to share part of my world with my Hivian friends.

Lizelle and I had Pizza which was awesome, hubby had the traditional burger and chips, Arthur had baked potato with bacon.
We chattered catching up with old news and just chilled out, it was the best medicine I could have had to cheer me up in a along time, missed my friends immensely.

Me and my dearest friend of 40+ years whom I love very much, had to have our picture taken amongst the plants. Lol!!
Hope you enjoyed the visit with me, hope to read some awesome #marketfriday posts hosted by @dswigle from around the world.

So lovely to spend time with very good friends @artywink, glad it happened for you all. At least covid isolation has given us a newfound appreciation of social meet ups with good friends.

Did you buy anything at this lovely place? Any Christmas gift to go into the to be wrapped box?

A few hours away in hidden little quiet space to enjoy a lunch together.

Always delightful to do this again enjoying memorable time together catching up chatting and exploring what is on offer.

Hope this is repeated again soon and @lizelle is back on the mend.

I so enjoyed you capturing this special little place and the moment you had with your long time friend.

It looks like the kind of place I would love to spend some time and that plant nursery looks very inviting.

Thank you for sharing it with us.

If I'm ever out KZN side I'll make sure to put this on the itinerary. The Eastern Cape is so beautiful.

I loved this post! I love the people in it and love the fact that you have been friends for 40+ years! Most people nowadays move around so much, their friends are all online, which is a horse of a different color.

The stone house is truly a find, from the whimsey and loveliness that it carries, the gardens and the lunch. It gives people a chance to meet, catch up and dilly-dally around. The place was awesome and the merchandise was one of a kind! I am tickled pink that you chose to share this with #MarketFriday! Thank you!

What a view! Did I say that? No, but, even if I did, what a view! It is simply breathtaking! How fortunate you have all of that at your fingertips. Even better? Both you and @lizelle Lizelle know it and appreciate the beauty!

#MarketFriday has evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact of what is normal for where you live? These are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I can only hope this to be true.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

  1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service.
    Take pictures! Be creative!
  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost?
  3. Post the picture(s) Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post
  4. Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post #hive-196308 (this is not required, but appreciated)
    5. Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it
  5. Following me and reblogging the post so more see it would be appreciated !! Not a rule, just appreciated, more vision for more views on your posts!
    7. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post. If you don't and someone reads it, there is nothing to tie #MarketFriday to that post.
  6. Please only one post each week. Believe it not, I run out of voting power if you put in many more than that.

As always, please remember! #MarketFriday loves you!
