Today I’m sharing my March memories from our visit to Colorado. You might remember how I failed skiing with my relatives there:-) We went for a walk there a few times with my kids. Kids usually aren’t so sure why are we just walking around and not playing. They still need to grow to understand simple walk and joy of being able to see nature’s beauty.

I also was taking pictures when we were still on the plane. I remember how in the past when I didn’t have a good smartphone and used old simple camera, I always struggled to make shots from the plane. Firstly, it was because I was afraid that it’s not allowed, and secondly, when I was trying to do it secretly, pictures never turned out good:-)

I think the mountains and dark ground on this one look like picture from the space.

Just look at this endless sky! It’s so blue and still, feels like time is slowing down here and we can just watch the clouds in the sky till it’s dark.

Here are a few shops in Gunnison. I liked their bright colors and the old cowboy style.

Here are some giant icicles we found while walking. Don’t worry kids didn’t eat them. Although in my childhood I tried them at least once, but please don’t tell my mom:-)

One of the things that I like about winter time (technically here it’s spring), is that there’s no insects attacks. I hate mosquitoes, no-see-ums, and other biting creatures. I can tolerate heat, but insect bites are annoying to me. I loved winter when I was a kid. We could officially be allowed to skip school because of cold and snow, but still go outside and play, it was like additional winter break days.

I think people who are lucky to live here in the mountains should be very healthy. I’ve read somewhere that because of the good air quality people from the mountains get to live longer lives, up to 90-100 years old. It could be also because of the lifestyle. They hike a lot from spring to fall, and in the winter they do skiing.

I really love the way the stop sign is contrasting with the nature here.

My husband’s parents kept spoiling us with great food while we were spending time with them. Living far from the relatives teaches to appreciate them more. Kids love and miss this time the most. What can be better than spending time with the grandparents?
