Lego’s everywhere.

Hello friends,

Do your kids like playing with lego pieces using their imagination? I always liked lego, but in my country in my childhood they hardly had any. Even if there were tiny sets, they probably were expensive. My kids have lots of pieces. Some are still build in set, some are being used as extra pieces. It’s hard to keep an eye on them and organize. I did organize most of it last winter break, made up 5 full sets, but in spring we had to move and a lot of the build sets got broken. Now I want to do a second attempt of making set from whatever is usable for that and leftovers we would organize by colors and size. Sounds like a lot of work I know.

My son os in fourth grade and I want to prolong his childhood and playing with regular toys not that’s are not digital device. I mean all people eventually grow up but no one later has time or interest to play with things they liked when they were little.

Me and my husband sometimes play with lego and kids love it. We help them to imagine some lego world with characters and the story that’s happening in that world. Imagination is a great gift people should learn how to use. Nowadays with gaming and a lot of screen time modern kids get bored immediately. The attention span is so short, the impatience is bothering them so much that they can’t sit down and start enjoying regular play time with dollhouse, lego or any other toy we used to love.

This year I also want to try organize more playdates with my friends’ kids, so kids could socialize more. It’s impossible to do at their school wearing a mask and keeping the distance doesn’t help in making friends.

So what do you think about old times play time, imagination and playdates. Do you agree that nowadays it’s more challenging to keep all of it, especially living in a busy city?
