Kids’ cards. Egypt.

Hello friends,

Today’s theme from our cards game is Egypt. Egypt is unique place, that has beautiful ancient history. All the pyramids, mummies, pharaohs.
Nefertiti, Tutankhamun and Ramesses are the names that people hear or see from movies or art history books. I liked looking at Nefertiti head sculpture illustration in my ancient history book when I was a kid, and later I saw her in another book at university. We had to read some books on art history it was in our program. I really enjoyed those beautiful pictures.

Now by getting these cards, I can replicate what I read in childhood and build some reading list of geography and history books for my own kids. I really want them to learn to enjoy art, history and geography.

In modern school kids get used to reading easy texts, more like comics. Then they can’t really tell the main idea of the story or answer the questions about the piece they read. The school doesn’t really care about the informational quality of the books, so I feel that I as a parent am responsible what kind of books my kid should read.

In my childhood, teachers really wanted us to learn good stuff. They used to say that books are our treasure, meaning that what we read makes our souls more reach. I can’t imagine kids’ souls getting rich from “Captain Underpants”, or “Dogman”. I’d prefer my kids to read short stories of Tolstoi, or Tales of Andersen, all the classics that’ve build our generation and not the modern one that doesn’t help our kids to grow their mentality. I know some super modern parents won’t agree with me but this is how I see right now, and you don’t have to agree with me. Everyone has his/her own opinion.
