With the help of our very own beer lord, @detlev, and the fact that the prize money rolls over to offer the winner 10 hive, I am confident that someone will rise up and attempt to answer the questions I set out in last weeks #beersaturday.

Do you have what it takes?

Beware! This is no ordinary quiz. This is a true test of your beer knowledge and I absolutely expect you to do some digging to obtain the answers. But do not shy away, the answers are out there and you’ll learn plenty of interesting facts as you navigate your way through these interesting questions.

A big thanks to @detlev for offering to help promote my quiz this week and I hope with this extra exposure we can crown a winner. So, without further a do, let’s reveal the 10 questions!!

I did warn you they were tough but I know there is someone from our brilliant #beersaturday community who has what it takes. You’ll only get one chance each week to answer my questions but the first person to answer all 10 questions correctly will be crowned king of all Beer kings and awarded 10 Hive for their sheer awesomeness!

hey @article61 ! here are your answers :)

  1. June, 2005,
  2. the beer must be made in a Cistercian Trappist abbey and it must be made by, or under the control of, its monks.
  3. Trappist Rochefort is brewed in the Saint-Remy Abbey
  4. It was in Philadelphia in the 1840s.
  5. there's the Urbock, the Weihnachtsbock and the Frühlingsbock.
  6. it was the "Coco Loco" a Coconut IPA (this one was pretty hard !)
  7. not really sure for this one, but I would say specific English malt. (or is it dry hops ?) finally, I would say that IPAs are brewed using a large quantity of pale hops from England... (2nd hardest question for me)
  8. ESB means "extra special bitter"
  9. the Prohibition started from 1920 & lasted until 1933
  10. The "Porter" name comes from its popularity with street and river porters.

That wasn't easy and I wanted to thanks you as I learned a lot more on beers !

Excellent, I'll msg you the wrong answer's asap. Unfortunately, you only get one try per week but if nobody gets it right this week then the prize money will rollover and you have a massive head start! Also, im going to send you 1hbd for your valiant effort this week

I really enjoyed it, didn't participate in a lot of contest and quizz during those years, but I have to confess I arrived home after several beers yesterday evening and so yours couldn't be more appropriate !

Oh my lord you were that close I began reaching for my sword ready to knight you as Sir Beer-a-lot. But, the quiz master is a mean old bastard and even though I was giving you some leeway on question 3, and 5, that still added up to just 9 correct answers. Fucking awesome effort nonetheless and I’ll be sending you 1HBD for that. Maybe this quiz will carry on into next weeks beersaturday and if so I’d love to see you back here again…

Ah ya i get lucky sometimes and get a large payout post, but I just keep posting every day regardless of what they earn and over time it will accumulate, that's the plan anyways..

I don't really use discord tbh, it was turning into time drain, Hive already takes a lot of time to be fully active and engaged

Me too mate, been plugging away for a while now. Recently lost a vote trail which halved my usual payout but they come and go. Still, it beats posting on FB 😃

Really enjoy posting for beersaturday and I guess most of us there would do it even if there were no payouts.

Lol I’m glad you mentioned losing your vote trail too. I thought I’d upset someone somehow?(people can be quite easily offended on here). Just goes to show that nothing should be taken for granted and anyone posting here should do it for the enjoyment. Anyway, at least it makes it all the better when you get a decent payout 🥳
