Simple Live in the Silver League - My Splinterlands restart journey

I started a series when I fell down into the bronze league after a few rents were cancelled on the last day of the season and it was to expensive for me to rent myself up.
I started with 1000 Power and a started deck, just to see if I can do something against the bots : https://peakd.com/splinterlands/@arkasz/what-did-i-learn-in-the-bronze-league-of-splinterlands
Here was my post on my return to Silver, I showed my earnings and one of my go to decks: https://peakd.com/hive-13323/@arkasz/can-you-win-against-bots-my-road-to-the-silver-league
Now I will continue and talk about:
- My current standing
- DEC decrease during the season
- A few more battle tips

My current standing
I started this season with around 1190 DEC.

The first thing I was to get to Silver 3 rank and to rent a card to stay there. I used the Peakmonsters bid renting feature. You can check how it works here :
I was very happy as the card I got is super useful (though not the best DEC/CP ratio). 10000 CP for 20 DEC, which is 500 CP/DEC.

He has helped me in a lot in fights. But I will get to it a bit lower.
Update the card was cancelled now just before EOS
During the season I had a lucky Daily chest, with 400 DEC:

And now I'm on 1678 DEC, while I have paid off all rents till the end of the season (hopefully my cards won't be cancelled till then end of the season):

Now I claimed up to rank 1900-2100 within the silver league, so if I would like to I could rent myself up to the gold league. Which with the current prices around 450CP/DEC is 200 DEC a day. My earnings would be maxed at around 50-60 DEC, so that would be a strong loss on my side I don't want to take. I will stay in Silver 3 and see what my earnings will be like. Let's clarify, I only earned 40 DEC in this season not counting the exceptional 400 DEC chest.

DEC decrease during the season
What is important to know. The in game rewards are usually the highest at the beginning of a season. So if you are thinking about moving up to a higher league it is best to do so at the beginning of the season. Mainly 2nd or 3rd day of the season. You can see that in the screenshots as well. When I started this season in Bronze 2 league I received around 1.6 DEC/fight won. After I rented out Axemaster I went up to Silver 3 and received for 2-3 days around 3 DEC/fight won in average, which then slowly decreased to 1.3 DEC/fight won as of today 3 days before the end of the season. So mid season I was basically with most of my winning paying my rented card, and hoped for some good chests to come along.

A few more battle tips
So at the end, let's look at a few tips for Silver league.
If you have issues doing some daily quests, then rent some cards! Level 1 chaos legion epic cards can be rented for 0.2 DEC a day. A Magi Necrosi, Prismologist with General Sloan, Grund or Task the Wide for the fire team against magic teams can make the difference in lower leagues.
My favorite team this season is definitely a stealth life team for less then 1 DEC to rent. This works for 18-24 mana matches mostly
Lorna Shine, Pelacor Conjurer in front, Celestial Harpy, Silvershield Knight and a few stealth or opportunity cards in the back, like Ureaus, Stitch Leech, Cave Slug, Feral Spirit or Silvershield Assassin. This is taken over from the previous meta mostly and can work against a lot of teams.
The second thing to look out for are strong magic teams with healing, like the Obsidian teams. I was very happy with renting Axemaster, who I put in the back of my team, I'm lucky enought to have Djinn Oshannus as well and a few more cards, which kill Mycelic Splispawn and Unicorn Mustang as soon as possible. Axemaster with its double 2 damage does a great damage in this!

It was a very long week, so I hope I could provide you with some interesting info in this post as well. I will do a better job tomorrow ;)
